Krystle Able, Failing Schools, Chicago and activism

By: Diane Benjamin

See this press release from the Chicago Public Schools concerning 2024 assessment results: https://www.cps.edu/press-releases/2024/june/2024-spring-state-assessment-results/

The press release celebrates increasing scores that are dismal-excerpts:

  1. 31 percent of elementary students (third through eighth) achieving proficiency in English Language Arts
  2. Math performance continued its steady upward trajectory as 19 percent of students achieved state-defined proficiency in SY24

How much of their “great” achievement is due to lower standards?

CPS has incorporated The 1619 Project into their curriculum: https://tomklingenstein.com/how-far-1619-has-reached/

Editor’s Note:

In the hands of the Destructive Left, The 1619 Project became a tool to sever Americans from their past and redefine the nation through the lens of grievance and oppression.

I know a teacher in District 87 was teaching it. Ask your high school children! It’s fake history that claims the Revolutionary War was fought to preserve slavery. The truth is, two of the thirteen colonies — Georgia and South Carolina — refused to sign the Constitution when it included a ban on slavery. Nothing was included that all thirteen colonies didn’t agree on. Less than a hundred years later, we fought a Civil War that finally ended it.

The Chicago Public Schools are busy teaching nonsense instead, while graduating students who can’t read or do basic math.

Why this report? Because the Normal Township Supervisor — who already has two full-time jobs — went to Chicago yesterday to celebrate the election of the CPS union president as president of the Illinois Federation of Teachers. Chicago schools fail to educate, yet teachers across Illinois elevated her!

Did Krystle bother to tell voters she was going to keep her old full time job if she got your vote for Township Supervisor?

Obviously, teaching isn’t about learning anymore — it’s about activism. Yes, standards for reading and math are being lowered to make scores look better. Public school students are at a great disadvantage, and it’s only going to get worse.

The systemic racism taught in Chicago Public Schools is real. Just ask this black women who will be earning around $300,000 a year.

Excerpts:

Just 26% of IFT’s spending was on representing teachers in 2024

IFT employed 142 officers and other staffers in 2024, and 63 of them made over $100,000. IFT President Dan Montgomery earned over $278,000.

Another big IFT earner: Chicago Teachers Union president Stacy Davis Gates, who pulled in $78,150 from IFT to act as its executive vice president. That’s in addition to her $187,000 salary from CTU, according to that union’s 2024 federal filing.

  1. Does anyone monitor how many hours Krystle actually puts in weekly at the job she was elected to do?

  2. Stacy Gates says we aren’t spending enough money on education and she sends her son to a private school. School choice must be mandated to fix this problem.

  3. Any teacher that states that America was founded on White Supremacy principles is teaching 1619 history (commentary). That would be Matt Chapman.

  4. The same union that the Chicago grade school teacher who mocked the CK assassination in the “No King” protest maybe belongs to? BTW who should be terminated.
