Of course crime is up. It’s obvious to those of us who have lived here for over 40 years. Those crime stats are certainly enlightening, but here’s the thing. If we had more police officers, more criminals could be apprehended. And, depending on how crime stats are classified, the actual crime is likely worse than those numbers portray. I wish we could turn the clock back to 40 years, but alas we cannot. Those who live here are dealing with bloated government; higher taxes, fees, bills; and much higher crime due to growth that was foist upon us. Leave? Sure. Someday.
Unfortunately it looks like it will continue to climb as people like Mandami, Krystal Able and the Illinois State Board of Education keep relieving people of personal responsibility.
