A perfect segway Diane. We wouldn’t be celebrating Thanksgiving had our first two colonies not come to their senses and discontinued their experiment with Socialism. The Pilgrams in the colonies of 1607 (Jamestown) and 1620 (Plymouth) were required to place all food and goods into a “common store”. No one owned private property, and everyone received equal shares regardless of effort. Sounds like a Mamdani government run grocery store to me.
So, I give thanks this Thanksgiving for the short life of Socialism in America. For the days that Governor Thomas Dale and Governor William Bradford both realized that Socialism does not work. It only bred confusion, discontent, laziness and starvation. Their wise decisions to establish private property and free enterprise Capitalism were the reason for the survival of our first two colony’s.

Taking a partial dinner spread to spend a few hours with my girlfriend’s dad, who is in a rehab facility. Cooked the turkey breast tonight so it would be done already and have to make some mashed potatoes and gravy and possibly some green beans in the morning when I get up.
I’m thankful we have him here still, although he has some memory loss and sometimes gets a bit confused. We are sad that he has to spend Thanksgiving in a rehab home, but we are hopeful he can come home in time for Christmas.
