See if you notice a difference in what these 2 candidates for Precinct Committeeman filed.
Patrick Cortesi if the Chair of the McLean County Democrats. He is running for Democrat Precinct Committeeman. This is the packet he filed to get n the ballot:
.
Connie Beard, GOP Fundraiser, is running for Republican Precinct Committeeman. This is what she filed to be on the ballot:
Figure out what is missing from Cortesi?
It form isn’t required (it should be), but not including this statement must mean he rejects what it says. If you run into Cortesi, ask him why he failed to put in writing he wouldn’t try to overthrow the government.
Cortesi is also running for Democrat State Central Committee which means he forms party policy on the state level. He’s perfect fit for that job.
Check other candidates here, I’m not checking them all: https://www.mcleancountyil.gov/1924/Candidates

Thank you for highlighting the difference. It was a purposeful decision to include that in my filing. As I come back as a precinct committeeman and continue my work on the GOP Executive Board, I will work hard for safety, prosperity and sanity for all.
Oh, please. That loyalty oath singles out “communist groups” and makes no mention of right leaning organizations (white nationalist organizations, Proud Boys, etc). Thats why he didnt sign it. After all, the last insurrectionist push was from the right on Janurary 6th. Methinks that “loyalty oath” should be updated to reflect the modern era.
Also interesting you, and all the other local Republicans havent called out Trump’s abhorrent, and unhinged, statement about the passing of Rob Reiner and his wife. Attacking a man who was brutally stabbed to death among with his wife just because he didnt politically alignwith you is wrong. Its no different than people who expressed joy over Charlie Kirk’s death. Its disgusting, and the fact that Republicans are too afraid to condemn Trump’s comment (looking at JD Vance and Mike Johnson) show just how far we’ve fallen in a shared sense of humanity.
I love hearing propaganda. Thanks
Oh, my bad. Did Trump not tweet:
“Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.”
Is this an acceptable way to respond to someone’s brutal murder? How is this any different than saying that Charlie Kirk “deserved what he got?” Oh wait, your cult leader said it. That must be what makes it okay.
People were partying when Charlie was murdered. Nobody celebrates the Reiner’s murder by their own son. The right called his comments wrong. I didn’t see the left do that
Maybe his ridiculous speech is why his son was “troubled”
@ ridiculous – Why do you want to change the subject so bad? It must be painful to live in a world where “Trump bad” is the answer to all insecurities.
Here’s what the subject was. Politicians pledge as a citizen to support the country and the constitution against political parties or organizations intent on overthrowing the government.
However I can see how such a pledge would make most democrats and all communists lash out in unhinged anger.
Are you a communist?
Really? Mike Johnson, JD Vance, and Karoline Leavitt were asked about his comments point-blank, and none of them could bring themselves to condemn Trump’s tirade.
Leading Democrats who expressed sadness, empathy, and compassion for Charlie Kirk after he was murdered? AOC, Hakeem Jeffries, Chuck Schumer, Barack Obama, Gavin Newsom. Thats just to name a few of the leading Democrats- I could go on.
Crickets from JD and Mike Johnson though, over Trump’s disgusting diatribe.
Good imagination
Interesting note: The great and powerful Donald Trump didn’t sign this oath in 2024.
Got proof other than some far left website?
Sure: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/jan/07/donald-trump-illinois-loyalty-oath-overthrow-government
A simple Google search will provide a lot more.
Foreign media with a “”I hate Trump” agenda? 😂
Like another comment said, he took the pledge in his Oath of Office
So I’m guessing you googled it and saw all the other sources, right? Illinois politicians also take an oath upon election: https://www.iml.org/file.cfm?key=29989
Now that we’re clear, what’s the point of fighting so hard for this one? I think cortesi sucks too but this is a lot of effort for what?
Precinct committeemen? Notice all the democrats who took the oath and refuse to say the Pledge?
Oh boy another “but Trump!!”
Have to applaud your single mindedness. Or is it simple mindedness?
He pledged allegiance at his inauguration in front of the whole nation.
This story implies that Cortesi is a threat to democracy because he didn’t sign this oath. I pointed out that the greatest president ever also didn’t sign the oath, questioning the validity of this Cold War era document.
Wouldn’t only be applying malice to one side be kind of single minded?
😂
