Gas price in Wisconsin, we also saw $2.32 but not in time for a pic:

.
Less than 20 miles south of the border in Illinois the price was $2.78.
Meanwhile Illinois roads are pathetic, especially I39 north.

I asked AI how many homes would that amount of electricity serve:

.
In 2023 the population of Logan County was 27,870: https://datausa.io/profile/geo/logan-county-il
The number of homes in Logan County isn’t close to the amount of electricity this one facility will need to operate.
Maybe Pritzker can subsidies more wind turbines and solar farms. 🤦♀️
The story claims Ameren can supply electricity. Illinois is expecting brownouts and blackouts in just a few years. With property tax dollars dangling in front of the County Board, residents better be paying attention.
250 acres of farmland will no longer produce crops. Who needs food anyway.

Another look at school performance: https://www.illinoispolicy.org/here-are-costs-test-scores-for-illinois-school-districts/

The story has an interactive database you can use to look up any district.

Gas price difference no surprise!
Data centers may finally force the left to consider nuclear.
District 87 has a very different demographic composition than the county at large…..thus the difference.
The problem with the argument that farmland produces food is that unless the land is in small scale production it isn’t producing food. Cows definitely shouldn’t be eating corn with glyphosate; they eat grass. Corn and beans grown today in large monoculture systems shouldn’t be consumed. Glyphosate is a big issue that’ll hopefully be talked about regarding America’s health problems eventually, and that’s the tip of the iceberg in terms of current soil conditions and farming practices. It might actually be better to leave the land dormant under solar panels to allow soils to rebuild, then maybe remove the panels when we wake up.
Steven what planet are you from?? Corn and beans are used for many many things beside food of course. Less than 25% of corn is “human ” food. The uses range from fuel to plastics and everything in between. And beans are even more diverse in uses with 3% directly becoming food. BUT both crops provide so many things we use and need daily….far to many to list. So the growing food part might not fit now BUT it can. I’d much rather chew on field corn intended for biofuel than try to eat a solar panel.
Everyone should sign the petition against the data center (in the linked article). There is NO legitimate or good reason to put such a thing in such a place. This is part of Prickster destroying the downstate and conservatives. Chicago has lots of empty space since many companies have left there during his dictatorship, but they are probably afraid of riots and crime up there. There are empty properties in all the cities in this state due to the great exodus.
Hemp grows like the weed that it is and replaces valuable nutrients to the soil.
