The pic below was sent to me by a reader. The Senate version has been referred to Assignments. The House version has been referred to the Rules Committee.
That means neither versions is dead.
Why only a $27 minimum wage by 2032. Why not $50 or more?
Does everyone want to pay $15 for a hamburger with no fries or drink? That is what $27 an hour will bring. It will also mean fewer jobs.
California raised minimum wage and lost jobs: https://thedailyeconomy.org/article/new-study-californias-20-minimum-wage-killed-18000-restaurant-jobs/
People elected to make policy should not be economically challenged. If these two bills pass and become law, it will prove the majority has no understanding of unintended consequences.

I doubt the two legislators who proposed this legislation could pass it. It’s only 7 questions, see how much you know. It should be an easy 100%.

So ANNOYING = A minimum wage increase is a price increase on everything!
The price of everything in Illinois is already too expensive!!
The proposal is just the opposite of economic development. It is a destroyer! OMG these demoncrats are the worst. I think they sit around alll day scheming what they can do to ruck over the peasants their every breathing moment of their worthless lives.
Their goal is everyone making minimum wage, except them.
What businesses will likely do is look for ways to reduce the head count first which is what happened in CA as well as businesses closing. Most definitely prices will increase.
Just for giggles (which I pretty much guessed) I did an AI question on who started the minimum wage.
The Democratic Party, led by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, established the first federal minimum wage in 1938 through the Fair Labor Standards Act. Part of the New Deal, this legislation established a minimum wage of 25 cents per hour to protect workers during the Great Depression.
PragerU will have to update the answer to question 1 to Socialism or Communism in the future.
Who was it the retired CEO of Home Depot who said we are living in a country of takers? Very true.
I will guess FDR or Johnson.
