Bloomington’s latest budget is almost $318 million but the camera didn’t work last night.
The meeting would have been 15 minutes but appointments and a proclamation used up time. 3 people spoke at public comment (see 17:55). Everything passed with no discussion.
The only video is of slides presented. The first 10 minutes are commercials. A few other slides:
Northpoint press box turned to ashes last weekend. City Manager asked any members of the public with information to contact them:

.
Resurfacing small roads by City staff has started. Bloomington has to do this since hiring someone to do all the small and side streets is cost prohibitive:

.
Downtown is now on Stage 3 – the City Manager wants everyone to know the project is mostly replacing really old infrastructure. They are now in the blue area, the two above it are done:

.
This is in the orange area:

.
It was reported last night that enough sponsors have stepped up to be close to covering the cost of this drone show:

.
More slides with other information are available.
This is a new poll of how people feel about their country: https://eloncdn.blob.core.windows.net/eu3/sites/819/2026/05/Elon-University-Poll-America250-topline-6-2-26.pdf
Some social scientist should do a poll of people who show up for this event. Could be very interesting.

An interesting survey to look through. I chose one question that I think sums it up.
American Pride – How true or untrue is this statement about you personally?
“I am proud to be an American.”
OVERALL
Very true 481 – 48%
Somewhat true 195 – 20%
Neither true nor untrue 155 – 16%
Somewhat untrue 100 – 10%
Very untrue 68 – 7%
“I am proud to be an American.”
BY PARTY
Democrat
Very True 26%
Somewhat True 22%
Neither True or Utrue 21%
Somewhat Untrue 18%
Very Untrue 12%
Republican
Very True 83%
Somewhat True 12%
Neither True or Untrue 4%
Somewhat Untrue 1%
Very Untrue 0%
So, there is a definite Political divide between people who are proud to be American. But overall, only a minority of Americans (7%) are not proud to be Americans.
It’s a good thing to remember when we see the loud and angry continuously put on center stage by our media so they can make more money. They do not represent the majority of America.
For the most part we all still share a common identity – Proud to be an American.
I could be wrong but why are republicans 57% more proud than democrats to be an American? Could it be that most republicans work and support themselves rather than relying on the government to take care of them.
Just saying!
Democrat party is now socialists
