Last Friday I attended this meeting. Lots of people attended.
The meeting opened with a 14 year old singing our national anthem. Next an employee and veteran led the crowd in saying the Pledge of Allegiance. Another employee led the group in prayer after that.
Nobody protested, I didn’t see anyone not participating. It’s awesome to see traditional American values not erased.
Since Corn Belt is owned by customers, money is sometimes returned to them. This summer they are sending $15 million back to customers.
$15,000,000!
Since Corn Belt buys electricity from Wabash in Indiana they don’t have to deal with the Net Zero policies of Illinois that increase the costs to customers. Corn Belt does have a small solar farm that does nothing but charge large batteries. Those batteries might keep the power on for a couple hours if there is an outage.
Generators work better. We have one that is used maybe once a year. Keeping the power on isn’t a problem we’ve had in the country. The tornado that did damage in town earlier this year did have their crews hustling on GE road. I think it was reported power was out in that area for 24 hours because polls needed replaced.
These meetings are made enjoyable. It wonderful to see a company that isn’t afraid to show their beliefs in public – including patriotism.

They were a good company for my husband to work for until retirement also.
YES! I have been saying the same things, as I was discussing the Corn Belt meeting!
The meeting was opened with: the National Anthem, the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer.
I remember back in time, like 1985, when this was the norm and almost ALL meetings started like this!!
I didn’t realize the CEO was retiring, so I do hope that the next CEO is able to continue running things in a similar way.
I don’t think that’s in doubt
Do you have a Generac generator on your farm that connects to your natural gas/propane?
No
