We won’t be able to attend this session, but is of high interest to us. Hoping Carl will schedule more sessions in the near future.
There are serious issues with the system and communication process and transparency in Central Illinois. Makes me question a lot.
Have disputed mujtooe times but normal folks would never pursue and it takes time and money and effort and you get no real answers. (Rural county) It’s a stressful process.
Was wondering the other day how much trauma and health issues (mental and physical) much is this time/financial exploit and assessments put the normal person/property owner thru (some loose their only home/.
Many of these taxpayers have no family, assets or money to just hand it all over to the oligark elites and departments and boards to “manage.”.
Nothing ever changes and the human and mental health risk is high am sure. Examples are many locally. A shame financial exploit it’s never brought to public eye by either political class.
We are just test rats that pay for oir own exploit it’s clear.

It doesn’t take money. Just look up comparable homes that have sold. If they sold for less than your assessment, there’s your protest. Of course getting rid of lying elected officials is another way.
The forms say you have to get appraisal (I did not either time- if they can’t explain in detail where and how they gut their data and assessment then I’m not going to).
No one could show comparable data or specific questions) or tell me where and how the property codes and data is stored/compiled, calculated, and applied for the appraisal or how rules/amounts are assigned.
(This is not a citizen-taxpayer training/education issue at a practical/deeper level once you are in the process.) It’s not cause folks are dumb. 🤒
If they can’t share or tell us the system, rules, data store/calculations used or any real detail am not gonna do their work for them even though We basically have to. I certainly was not gonna pay for an appraisal either.
If the county/localities can’t say clearly how and where the comparable data came from for their assessment that is a problem.
