If you live in Bloomington or Normal and haven’t opted out of electric aggregation, you are pay more. Winter will be even worse – Ameren just lowered their winter rates:

The aggregation rate both cities opted you into is:
Direct Energy will be the new supplier starting with the June meter read through August 2027 and the new rate will be 12.76 cents per kilowatt-hour.
If you want to continue paying more – stay in the plan your government put you in.
Otherwise, opt out!
Eligible customers who choose not to be part of the aggregation group may opt-out of the aggregation group by contacting Direct Energy at (866) 968-8065.

The insane part is that you are automatically enrolled by your municipality unless you take time to opt-out.
How about they leave my electric service alone!!
