Associated Press is reporting the new business generated from the government spending billions for high speed rail. New rail cars, interiors, and a bunch of other gizmos that are required to complete the project. Here’s the difference between capitalists and big government guys: Capitalists don’t steal money from people for their businesses. Government STEALS our money to fund theirs!
Yes, I said “steals”. Taking something earned by somebody else is theft, even if government is the thief. They are not entitled to any part of what we earn, government just thinks it is. Government ideas are always something we have the responsibility to pay for, whether we approve or not. After all, they know what’s best for us. Insert any word you want here, mine starts with a B___________.
What happens to these government created jobs when all the new cars are built? Will government have to spend billions or trillions more so there is a long term need for new rail cars? Will government have to come up with another project we “can’t live without” to keep people employed? Tax more, spend more, tax more, spend more. The cycle never stops, but the drain on the resources of citizens continues. Government spending means entrepreneurs have less capital to create private sector jobs, like Bill Gates starting Microsoft in his garage.
Taxing citizens for anything but the basics government must provide violates the 8th Commandment: Thou Shalt Not Steal.
I am on numerous left-wind email lists. The number one goal of one group for 2013 is to “Make Paying Taxes the Patriot Thing to Do”. We, as citizens, need to understand the role of government. It isn’t creating jobs by stealing from us. Paying taxes for essential services is patriotic, paying so government can create whatever they think is best for us amounts to “treason by government”.
If you believe paying taxes is patriotic, congratulations. How does it feel to be a slave of the state?
