Feeling immaterial to your government in Normal? You should. Somebody should rename it Koosville since he gets anything he wants. The Council doesn’t represent you and debt is not a concern – even though revenue is dropping. Raise taxes – that’s the ticket! Revenues will continue to decrease as government takes more of your money. Econ 101: Let the people keep less of their own money, tax revenue goes down.

Public Meeting to Discuss Uptown Plan Update
Normal, IL – November 12, 2014 – A public meeting to discuss the Uptown Plan Update hosted by Farr Associates is scheduled for Tuesday, November 18 at 6:30 pm at Uptown Station, Council Chambers – 4th floor, 11 Uptown Circle, Normal. All members of the public are invited to attend.
The purpose of this meeting is to inform the community about the process to update the Uptown Plan and to seek community input on the Uptown Redevelopment Project and future development goals, activities, projects and plans for Uptown Normal. In August, the Town Council approved the Farr Associates proposal, which included three key elements: 1) assessing the extent and quality of the implementation of the 1999 plan, 2) preparing a new master plan and 3) updating development controls to guide the plan for the next 15 years. Attendees will learn more about the project and have the opportunity to ask questions of the project team headed by Farr Associates of Chicago, Illinois.
Free parking is available in the Uptown Station parking deck that is accessed from Beaufort Street. Individuals with disabilities who plan to attend the meeting and who require certain accommodations in order to allow them to observe and participate, or who have questions regarding the accessibility of the meeting or facilities, are requested to contact the Assistant City Manager in advance of the meeting at 454-9503 or at email@example.com. Individuals with limited English proficiency who need assistance communicating are also requested to contact the Assistant City Manager.
If many many people don’t show up and tell Koos NO, your property rights will continue to be taken away. Eminent domain was used to take businesses – Koos will do it again.
If you aren’t a long time reader, here’s the summary on the how Downtown was turned into Uptown:
Normal bought a lot of properties. They paid OVER the assessed value for many of them. They then used the higher values to justify raising the rest of the property values. I posted all the facts years ago – just search Normal on Blnnews.com.
Think Koos won’t do it again? Your kids won’t stay here if taxes keep going higher and higher. Who is going to be left to pay the debt?
Here is Normal’s current debt: https://blnnews.com/2014/10/30/normals-debt/
If you don’t stop Koos, who will?
