Spending the Tax Increase

By:  Diane Benjamin

On the agenda for Monday night is another SECRET meeting by the City Council:

BuyLandx

Anybody want to take bets on WHERE the property is they plan to buy?  Downtown?

Where is the money coming from to buy more property AND do something with it?  Don’t forget they bought the Sugar Creek Packing property!

Higher taxes of course.  Renner is so brilliant he will create Utopia with or without your permission.  Tari has stated over and over that Bloomington is doomed without a prosperous downtown.  In reality, if Tari accomplishes his plans, Bloomington will be doomed with debt.

Progress.

Why is the purchase scheduled for 20 minutes?  It takes that long to convince the potted plants?

Meanwhile, from Bills and Payroll for Monday night:

LEGAL Contracted Legal:   60,783.73  (Springfield law firm-one month)
LEGAL Outside Legal Co:   15,342.50

Friends of government are thrilled your taxes got raised!  They are happy to accept your bucks.

Two meetings ago the City couldn’t pay it’s bills if the Sales Tax wasn’t raised.

Feeling betrayed?

  1. FUNNY! Feel like I’m reading HOW TIME FLIES in the daily rag, which tells about ole Jack Snyder wanting to buy the So side of the square and tear it down, and was rejected, and Jesse (not so) Smart was rebuffed. WHEN will they learn? Dad ALWAYS said if they weren’t politicians they’d be unemployed!

  2. Yes I am feeling betrayed because at one time I thought that Sage and Schmidt actually had a brain and could think for themselves. I actually thought that they had cared about the little people, to advocate for them, but they have gone astray. Black, Painter, Hauman, Buragas, I don’t feel betrayed because their lack of values has always been obvious. The four are political assignments period. Fruin the home town boy as though he grew up in a socialist country and that’s all he knows. Mboka proud to be an American citizen but still lacks the understanding of true liberty and freedom for the people. Once in a while he shows a glimpse, maybe there is some hope there. * Kevin Lower a true representative of the people. Thank you Kevin.
