This should not even be an issue in this day and age.
I agree. Any guesses as to why we are?
The anti-vaccinators who believe autism is caused by vaccinations.
” anti-vaccinators”–almost all on the extreme Left. And they have the gall to call Conservatives “Anti-Science”.
The rest are running for president.
I had measles, mumps, and chicken pox. So did everybody else I went to school with. Nobody died.
This is an issue where the nuts grow all along the political spectrum. Really it should be a politically agnostic issue because the science has supported the benefits of vaccines for some time. There are people who cannot be vaccinated and depend on others to help prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Both sides can be equally uninformed on vaccination and it hurts the overall health of others.
They also said eggs are bad for you, butter is bad margarine good, take Calcium. Gee, that’s the SHORT list of how wrong they have been.
Difference is I can choose to destroy my body with those foods and minerals it won’t directly affect the health of others. It might cause my family to feel I am burden. However, if I choose not to vaccinate myself and I contract pertussis and infect my newborn, that is a totally different story. I would sound pretty selfish if I said people get whooping cough all the time and survive. The point is herd immunity. Listen to how a newborn sounds with whooping cough and you can understand that all the reasons for vaccination become rather clear. Your argument is extremely weak and void of any redeeming points.
Your arguments are all over the map! The story is on mumps. I mentions measles and chicken pox. Nobody mentioned whooping cough except you. All vaccinations aren’t in the same bottle.
Oh give it up! You are bailing on your statement and trying to cling to the hope that your argument has merit. Your statement was weak and you realized it, but you can’t admit it. Your opinion that if “no one dies, what’s the harm?” does damage. That’s how kids get sick. People only think of themselves! It’s anti-Vacxxer nonsense 101!
The “childhood diseases,” measles, mumps and chicken pox–especially mumps–although not fatal can have more serious consequences for (young) adults than for children. It is possible for parents to opt out for their children but one runs the risk of infection later in life.
Exactly, no one died. No vaccines years ago for measles, mumps, or chicken pox either. Vaccines are huge money maker for big pharma, period. California after passing a law for mandatory children vaccines is now working on a mandatory for adults as well.
The health industry is a big money maker with or without Big Pharma. Ever look at a doctor or hospital bill? How many times are you getting nickel and dimed to generate profit? Room fee? Facility fee? I applaud California. Too many people thinking they are somehow special and have been easily convinced that vaccines are bad despite the reduction in deaths and the overall prevalence of infectious diseases. Should we stop vaccinating for polio in Pakistan? Either that or if you wave a vaccine, insurance won’t pay for your treatment if you contract a disease that is preventable from vaccine?
In 6th grade we “as in almost ALL of the class” had the measles and then the darn mumps, and IF I remember correctly, the high fever, pain, swelling, and other related symptoms were SUCH FUN! I wish that ALL those IDIOTS that don’t get shots for their kid should get them! Heaven forbid that POLIO becomes an issue AGAIN, as my mother had that, and it CAN be a LIFE CHANGING disease. Simply put, GET your child immunized-period. You send them to school to learn, NOT be a germ dumpster.
