Alderman Scott Black is the organizer of this event. He wants to show all elected officials can work together. Scott: the Council has NO history of working together! Former Alderwoman Judy Stearns was completely ignored when she presented opinions. Ditto Alderman Kevin Lower. The Budget Task Force was ignored, so was the the Citizens Summit. Alderman Fruin claimed last night that he has sent emails to Council members for years that have been ignored. Does this event mean you want change?

The City of Bloomington just sent this out: http://www.cityblm.org//index.aspx?page=18&recordid=3959
I wonder what values they think are American? Would that be the “lefts” values or the “rights”? Would that be government’s values or the people paying for it?
Are City employees paid to show up, or is this a lunch hour thing?
Didn’t they mean to say the Convergence of Purpose statue?
Are they going to sing Kum ba yah?
Is this a “safe space” for election recovery?
Who is really behind this gathering?
Perhaps they can start by having all elected officials learn and pass a test about the Constitution as the Founders intended. I don’ t mean what the kids learn in school about how old you have to be to run for Senate or President but it’s actual meaning.
Sounds pretty partisan for our “nonpartisan” government to be sponsoring. Total waste of time and taxpayer money!
Maybe they SHOULD sing, May the circle be unbroken **** TAKE IT however you want to.
campaign photo op!?!
