Koos didn’t understand the feedback he got, so he tried again. Maybe he was expecting people to kneel in the presence of his greatness:

Full production last quarter 2020? And as predicted from the beginning…. they are scraping the inside of the plant. They will leave a gutted empty shell behind when the leave. Koos is a fool.

I’ve said it a thousand times. Government has no business in business…any business…never…ever. Let the free market decide who is successful. Portillo’s is a nationwide company.. They didn’t need taxpayer money to build in Normal. If they say, no tax incentive no store, I say, see ya.
Stan, It was Tartan, the developer (same one that did Uptown) who received the incentive, not Portillo’s.
Yes, Koos needed that hotel torn down. The incentive wasn’t paid back with tax receipts.
This is fabulous. I applaud each and every individual who commented. They are all right on point. Bottom line, we are all sick to death of being treated like a bank.
And, as for the Amazon/Ford investment, I don’t believe that there is an agreement that the $$$ will be spent in B/N. I think the $$$ was invested just as a placeholder in case Rivian is somehow successful in developing a product that Amazon/Ford is interested in.
Everyone should read the auto trade publications when possible on this. You can read between the lines on most of this that both Ford and Amazon are banking on Rivian developing state of the art long-range battery technology. Ford is playing its cards close to the vest on what they are hoping comes from their investment. Amazon is always about investing in “infrastructure” they think they can use to business development advantage. Bezos would utilize the battery technology if proven reliable in several of his business developments, including aerospace. But your right, their investments likely would not benefit the BN operation directly. Koos or Renner have no concept of how the automotive industry runs or why they do what they do.
Diane you must really be getting under the Koos thin skin or he wouldn’t have attempted his own news blog. Two days in a row now, Koos, Fazzini and I am LMAO! Karma.

For those who remember 1988 and 1989, is there any thing similar about those pre-production and first production years at Mitsubishi and this year? Compared to what Mitsubishi was doing as far as just equipment coming into the plant and the hiring and training of thousands of people? Remember the suppliers that were opening up facilities and hiring people? Yes nothing seems to be coming into the Rivian plant (scrap steel is coming out) and no one is being hired. But now production will begin last quarter of 2020? Who is dumb enough to believe this fairy tale?
It’s not clear where production will occur or what will be produced in the local plant. It is assumed the Rivian Truck. Perhaps. Maybe the Skate Board chasee. What is going on at their Michigan location? What about the location(s) in California?
RE: Headline. Diane–Afraid you have insulted Teenage Girls everywhere. Most are not as shallow, petulant and thin skinned as Mayor KookieKoo.
I was a teenage girl who dumped every friend because of girl crap. I also raised one. They can be petty gossiping irritating creatures. Koos fits in perfectly.
Don’t insult teenage girls. They would know after awhile to shut the hell up, unless they are on drugs. Koos just got trashed maybe worse than anything I have seen so far. I say this because MANY joined the party with their names exposed. The one telling him to keep out of S Farm’s business just as he says we should stay out of Rivians gets the slam of the year award, it was beautiful. Koos….even a teenage girls know not to post nude pictures on the internet but that has not stopped you from telling naked lies.
As others have mentioned. To meet a 2020 deadline a working prototype has to be made. Then an assembly line designed and built. Have we seen any of this here? No.
Hopefully this will be part of the legacy that makes the saying “Koos is done in 2021” come true. Get and kick his ass Marc and Stan, may others join you in this.
This whole Rivian issue would have been non existent King Koos if you would have bothered to do the research on the company BEFORE you tossed them millions of taxpayer dollars. Rivian is the white elephant of Normal and Koos wants to name a street after them? Why not call the street EDSEL drive and be done with it. Unit 5 announced this year that its running in the red by millions and need to fire teachers and increase class sizes. If Unit 5 would have done their research the millions of dollars they gladly pitched to Rivian would have balanced that budget and students would not be sitting in classes the size of a small town .Koos sounds more like a petulant 5 year old than a teen ager. Sounds like he has the mentality of one as / well. Let private business take care of itself. Rivian/Portellos /2 hotels/uptown circle/and all the other bondoogles that Koos approved and pushed.
Social media just isn’t working for the mayor of Normal. The people of Normal are getting woke.
What we are seeing here is a result of the age of information (thanks to our Diane here) opening up reality and the truth to regular people. This is happening all across the planet. We are all part of a movement that is sweeping the globe. Italy and now Great Britain have both elected their versions of Trump. We the people know what is going on now. We are going to insist that our politicians and our governments are in the business of doing the work of the people. For the first time in history, rulers cannot rule by lying, withholding the truth, and creating fake news. We can find out the truth. We can show it to the world. We can talk about it and voice our opinions about it for everyone to see. It’s a wonderful time to be alive except if you are a leftist crony capitalist like Fuhrer Koos. He (and thousands of others across the planet) can no longer hide what they are doing and who they really are from the people.
As one who has followed both Bloomington and Normal city government for some time, I’ve concluded that both are screwed up, but the situations are different. Normal has had a very disengaged citizenry. In the past unless you had town gown relationship issues, nobody paid much attention to Normal city government. Normal residents really didn’t have to. Normal used to be a debt free community. Then while people were sleeping along came Chris Koos and an overly big government city manager who built their utopia called Uptown on the backs of the taxpayers. Now people are waking up and seeking to take back their government and Koos is mad as hell. There’s hope in Normal. I think Bloomington is screwed.
Good points, BUT, I don’t think Bloomington is screwed YET. We STILL have time to KICK out the rebels and regain the territory, if you will. As for NEVERSILENT’s comment above, this is a GREAT point, and a friend and I were talking this a.m. (he lives elsewhere) but he was saying “I wonder WHAT the Democrats will do when Trump gets re-elected” they won’t have ANYTHING to bitch about, and can’t blame him for this and that, but he stated, IF he were Trump, he’d START a “Mueller” investigation into the Democratic party for Collusion, Fraud, Obstruction, Perjury, Conspiracy (Obama/Russia investigation) etc. And he hoped this rolled down CLEAR to the local level! Our freedoms are being assaulted by people like Mayor Fredo Little Man and Fuhrer Koos – this is as serious as it gets for the future of our republic.
Google, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, the evidence keeps piling up that they are all anti-conservative to various degrees / in either way. PragerU has already filed a lawsuit and there has been talk of breaking them up and/or regulating them.

Yes this is the biggest threat to our republic that our republic has ever seen. Big Tech must be broken up and reined in before we have a situation that resembles what the Communist Chinese government have done. Regulations mean competition can’t compete. Congress won’t write them since they are clueless, the big tech companies have them written already.
This is a very interesting move and a political misstep by Koos. Really no reason to share this information (or lack thereof). Why not just wait until the “incredible things” materialize, are made public or otherwise shared in the open? That would be a great time for Koos to boast and take a political victory lap. I wonder if he’s feeling some pressure to show results from the Rivian arrangement. Wonder if Unit 5 is on his back or other folks that signed off on the deal that now have buyers remorse.
Yes and you can see from the comments on the Facebook post that the natives are getting pretty restless. Rivian missed all their “goals” and it’s starting to look like they are not going to be making anything in that plant anytime soon (if ever). Fuhrer Koos is starting to look like the real schmuck that he is. Reality is closing in on him and he is looking for shreds of good news to keep the dream alive. He violated this basic rule: Never let your desire for something to be true, cloud your judgement on whether or not it is actually true.
Rivian, will produce nothing of any real value, ever, they will tank here after conning a lot of people out of a lot of money and pull their sad little circus with RJ the Super Amazing Con Man Clown in the front of the parade into some other town by I will say 2022, after they delay the touted 2020 roll out deadline again, and maybe try to get at lest a few more million out of this area and then they will pull up stakes and flim flam ANOTHER medium sized city, that is run by post turtles and imbeciles, with their dream Car/SUV/Truck or maybe their magic battery. Rivian, is a joke and Scaringe should be doing time for all of the money he has conned out of people and likely pocketed and/or wasted on facades and phony “proto-types”. I feel quite sorry for the people of Normal to be honest, the decent ones anyway.
Maybe talking to someone who knew anything about the mass production of vehicles might have been a good idea? But no… Fuhrer Koos and his elitist (never worked a day in their lives) posse knew it all. And now the reality of a scam artist and amateur vehicle maker is hitting Normal in the face. All the people who were dumb enough to elect Fuhrer Koos are to blame. They deserve this debacle.
