Normal has a mayor who thinks we are a democracy!
The United States is a Republic mayor, democracy is mob rule.
So Mr Mayor thinks vigorous discussion of ideas is the foundation?
Here’s a list of why he is a hypocrite:
- Koos shuts down Stan Nord and Karyn Smith at Council meetings. Discussions aren’t allowed if he doesn’t want items discussed
- Locating the new fire station in east Normal was discussed by citizens, the town refused to participate
- How about publicly discussing a sublease of 1 Uptown Circle? Chris attacked Stan for even thinking about it even though there is interest
- Should rental properties the Town owns show a profit? Should they at least cover the expenses? crickets.
- Public Comment: citizens can only talk about items on the agenda. We know discussions about a sports complex are going on in private. Koos won’t allow public comment until it’s a done deal.
- Property taxes have been paid in error for years and still isn’t corrected. A vigorous discussion of paying bills without making sure the Town owes them deserves discussion!
- Normal poached AFNI and Farnsworth from Bloomington for Trail East. They used tax dollars to complete the task. Where are all those people going to park? Saturday the garage attached to City Hall was completely full. The new building will eliminate more parking. The chances of filling 1 Uptown Circle are zero if people can’t get to it! Where is that discussion?
- Mayor Koos needs to explain how leaving an open seat on the Connect Transit Board for close to a year leads to vigorous discussion. Normal is missing a voice.
- Is Connect engaging in vigorous discussion with the people they are disenfranchising? Not in the Working Group!
- How much are taxpayers paying for your fight with the mural artists? So far that’s been a secret.
- Was the Trail East building even vigorously discussed. The Town had a plan from at least a decade ago and they are going to follow the plan regardless of public opinion or changing conditions.
- Koos still thinks an underpass and Uptown 2.0 are going to happen. Public opinion isn’t needed since it was discussed long ago when people couldn’t understand it.
- Instead of budgeting pensions payments, the Town raises property taxes while pretending funding can only come from those taxes. Where’s that discussion?
- Koos thinks the Council doesn’t have to approve bills before they are paid. Laws are immaterial mayor? Payments get a vigorous debate?
This list could go on and on.
Yes mayor, vigorous discussion of ideas is the foundation.
Hahahaha, such a fool to start a blog get absolutely hammered and go back for more. Hahahaha it’s your last term Koos. Take your idiot brother with you. It’s the most accurate history either of you will ever represent.
In a Republic, people are represented which is what Stan and Karyn are trying to do on this Council. In Koos’ world people are governed. Just ask Chemberly who actually uses the words “governed” when she’s running her mouth at a Council meeting.
Uptown, Ms. Lorenz also uses the word governed as in Stan & Karyn need to sit back and learn how to govern.
She is a big part of the problem
I wonder if when we said the pledge of allegiance if the words, “republic for which it stands” was noticed by sir moron Koos.
Koos=UPTOWN! NEITHER are liked by ANYONE with a microcosm of COMMON SENSE.. As for sitting back and “Learning the ropes” that’s going to be like being in the CIRCUS MAXIMUS with real lions when Chemberly , et al, get their heads stuck in a lions jaw…
And as for EVEN STARTING a discussion that you CANNOT talk about Mr Koos, you’re in a league ALL YOUR OWN!

He might get a heck of a surprise with Rivian. First: Koos did no history search on Rivian. Anyone who can read knows that Rivian will probably shutter their doors before production . Second, Ford has its own financial troubles as they have made several bad financial decisions. My little crystal ball tells me two things: Ford will back out because they need money for other issues and two: Rivian will be gone either in later December 2020 or early January 2021.
