Write-In candidates and illegal Campaign signs

By: Diane Benjamin

I’m posting these GOP write-in candidates again because I keep getting asked:

Either some candidates don’t know the law or are ignoring it: https://ilga.gov/legislation/legisnet90/sbgroups/sb/900SB0655LV.html

Democrat running as a Republican Amy McFarland has two signs on public property at the corner of Streid Drive and White Eagle. Think a judge should know the law?

That road connects Oakland Avenue to Ireland Grove Rd.

  1. The local interpretation is that this law does not apply to those running as Democrats or RINOs.

  2. Jim Fisher has signs on a few business owners properties I know without their consent.

      1. Tipsword seems to has a lot of signs up that are much larger than 2 x 3. Are you saying these are illegal? What about all those platice bage yard signs that are around?
