Sort of Back in the Saddle

By: Diane Benjamin

We laid our precious daughter to rest on Saturday. A large crowd of her friends and ours came in support. We appreciate all the love and prayers that surrounded us. Thanks too to the Bloomington Police who shut down the intersection of Ireland Grove Road and Towanda Barnes so we could all get to the Benjaminville cemetery. Much appreciated.

I have lots of issues that need to be resolved so I won’t be back in full for awhile.

A couple things of note while I was away:

  • Bloomington was still meeting in the BCPA at the last meeting, efficiency and government never go together. The new space was supposed to be done in September. Did the Water Park ever get finished? Of course the Sales Tax increase that was passed to fix a structural deficit they caused (now LONG gone) has not been repealed. The agenda for tonight says they will be back at the Government Center: https://d3n9y02raazwpg.cloudfront.net/cityblm/25a60a7c-7d4f-11ed-9024-0050569183fa-d969cfc2-89f9-4a31-922c-c0ff80c0370c-1697838926.pdf
  • Normal’s Department heads now don’t need a waiver to live outside of Normal, they are only required to live within 60 miles. That means the people making decisions don’t have to live with the consequences of those decisions. Congrats.

  1. Thinking of you and your family. I know and understand what you are going through.
Hopefully eventually you learn to live with it and regain peace of mind.

  2. Dear Diane, so sorry to hear about your loss. Liked that God is providing you and your family with peace. Take care, Eric
