Please oppose this Illinois bill!

By: Diane Benjamin

Submit witness slip OPPOSING HB 4198 which is sponsored by Carol Ammons(D, Urbana) and is one giant step towards Illinois becoming an ALL VOTE BY MAIL state. Please take action by Tuesday. 3/5 by 2PM.

Jimmy Carter opposed vote by mail decades ago because fraud was easy!

HB4198 provides that each election authority may decide to mail a LIVE vote by mail ballot to all qualified voters instead of sending notices and applications for permanent vote by mail status.

A person who has never voted before may not be sent a vote by mail ballot until that person has provided the election authority with sufficient proof of identity and the election authority has verified the person’s proof of identity.

Presumably, some Election authorities may decide to continue running elections the way they have been doing. Thus, resulting in unequal treatment based on where someone lives. More importantly, vote by mail is the least secure way to vote! There is no chain of custody for mail in votes which means there is no election integrity.

  1. Done – almost didn’t do it. Why do they need my email address, phone number, and my “title”??? Huge invasion of privacy. If I put an Illinois address on the form, it should be good enough. For this one, I did it anyway.

  2. Thank you for providing this information and exactly how to fill out this witness slip. I have completed my witness slip as an opponent of this bill because I don’t believe that we need looser mail-in voting. We need to keep voting in person, and allow mail-in voting only for special purposes such as people serving in the service of our Country.
