The School Results you DON’T want to see

By: Diane Benjamin

Evidently many parents don’t want to see how bad their child’s school really is. Waiting until your kids grows up to find out they can’t read or do math? The local Public School system is robbing you and your children and charging you more to do it!

Enrollment at both Unit 5 and District 87 is down but propped up by “migrant” children. Both are spending far more per student and getting worse results:

Look up other schools I didn’t list here: https://wirepoints.org/kidscantread/

Some Bloomington Schools:

A few Unit 5 schools:

If you aren’t appalled at these numbers as a taxpayer or parent, you had better read them again. These Public Schools are creating future idiots! Maybe the Chicago Public Schools have taught them how to create compliant populations who don’t know a better life is possible because they can’t read.

Tri-Valley shouldn’t be celebrating even though they are light years ahead of the above. There results are still dismall:

  1. It’s incredibly sad. Parents put UNEARNED trust in schools and teachers to educate their children. All parents in Unit 5 and District 87 need to get off their butts and check to see if their children can do math, spell, read, write. Do it this summer! Why wait? Hold the teachers and schools accountable! For the exorbitant taxes we pay, shouldn’t your children actually be learning at every grade level???

  2. 1. Administration is rating 99% of the teachers as excellent or proficient.
No workforce is rated that high unless management is unable or unwilling to get rid of the low performing teachers. Thanks teacher’s union and equity!

From Unit 5’s Equity Audit –
8: EMPLOYMENT & RETAINMENT – We have implemented practices to attract *and retain* highly qualified, diverse teachers and administrators at our district.

Which is more important – highly qualified or diverse?

If there are no “diverse” teachers available, it might be better to keep a bad one than try to hire from a nonexistent pool of correct identity candidates. So, everyone gets a great review!

    2. Proficiency of students is low, but graduation rates are high.
This says they have opened the gates for the kids to skate. They know the system will jackknife if they don’t. Complete anarchy would ensue with overloaded, understaffed classrooms.

So ultimately the education system has crashed, and it is burning.

    1. Excellent analysis, and incredibly sad. We are paying obscenely exorbitant property taxes AND children are graduating who cannot do math, spell, read, write.

  3. Lay blame on the school board. They get paid to let our children become morons! The board should be ashamed of these numbers but they won’t be. Heck, the board members should be FIRED because of these numbers but they won’t.

  4. The amount spent per student can be astonishing. From 2010 until now, Tri-Valley has remained nearly flat at around 10k. Heyworth went from 10 to 13k. LeRoy went from $9k to over $20k! Unreal!

  5. On top of that the curriculum is dumbed down so they can graduate.
Shrinkflation, pay more and get less.
