League of Women Voters are out of the closet

By: Diane Benjamin

This country is not a democracy because democracies don’t protect the rights of individuals. A representative Republic does because it protects the minority from the tyranny of the majority.

The national LWV held a convention and produced this:

If the Electoral College is dismantled the only voices that will matter will be in large blue cities that vote democrat. Fly-over country will never see a presidential candidate because the minority viewpoint will be immaterial. The entire country will look like California, New York, and Illinois. The LWV hasn’t noticed people are fleeing their “democracy” for states that believe in “true representation” instead of tyranny. Americans will have nowhere to flee.

Understand yet why the left keeps talking about democracy isn’t of preserving the Republic?

Keep in mind the local LWV has deemed themselves guardians of truth:

The final straw to prove the LWV is merely an arm of the democrat party is the statement they issued on the Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity: https://shorturl.at/nn2zx

“Equal Justice For All” makes the president above the law? July 4th is tomorrow, the LWV needs a class to review the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution!

The presidency is an equal branch of government. There are three branches: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial.

This ruling didn’t give extraordinary immunity to the executive branch. No president has ever been prosecuted by the judicial branch because of separation of powers. No president should have to constantly be afraid of prosecution merely because of actions the president conducted as president. That makes the judiciary more powerful than the presidency.

Is a president above the law? Obama wasn’t prosecuted for droning four American citizens overseas without due process of law. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/who-were-the-4-us-citizens-killed-in-drone-strikes/

FDR wasn’t prosecuted for sending Japanese Americans to prison camps with no proof they were a threat: https://www.npr.org/sections/codeswitch/2020/03/24/820181127/the-unlikely-story-behind-japanese-americans-campaign-for-reparations

The Supreme Court ruling protects Biden from being prosecuted for repeatedly violating a Supreme Court ruling stating he doesn’t have the power to forgive student debt. He won’t be prosecuted for not enforcing immigration law passed by the legislative branch even though that IS HIS JOB.

The League of Women Voters has proven they can’t distinguish truth from lies in the media. Everyone needs to realize they are biased and treat their opinions as such.

The local group pretends they are non-partisan when they obviously aren’t. Pretending they have some superior ability to inform citizens is a joke. Their ability to hold candidate forums should also be questioned.

The Supreme Court took steps to return to Equal Justice under the Law. The country used to think all people should be treated equally, it looks like the LWV doesn’t.

  1. The left has a long and successful history of infiltrating useful idiots for their cause add LWV to the democratic party, aclu, the universities, and the court system. And we sit and watch and say ‘how does this happen’. They are slow moving bullies and we let it happen. Why are bullies successful? Because we don’t stand up to them. The bullies on the left are convincing our children that they have a gender issue and the medical and psychological communities are very happy to cut on them, medicate them, and help them reach ‘self-actualization.’. Another old commie phrase from the 60’s that is reappearing. Vote and if your hear stupid language -stand up to it. What have we got to lose!

  2. Democrats by now should understand that their party is abusive. Democrats should be very suspicious of their leaders and their media. Everything they say is the truth should automatically be consider a probable lie. There is too much evidence of this now.

  3. This has nothing to do with LWV but does relate to voting itself: What are your thoughts on increased calls to repeal the 19th amendment? Those calls may still come from the fringes, but judging by social media and discourse among certain politically active religious circles, sincere calls to repeal the 19th amendment have *increased* over the past few years. This has nothing to do with ensuring that non-citizens do not cast ballots, or any other election security measures – this is only based on eliminating the right for certain U.S. citizens to vote based on sex. What are your thoughts on this phenomenon?

      1. The amendment that cooked our goose was the Fourteenth!! I’m a strong believer that if you don’t contribute you don’t get a say. It rankles me to no end that someone that pays thousands in taxes vote can be cancelled by someone on the dole. The dems make sure more and more people are on the dole (votes!) while they stick it to hard working taxpayers.

    1. Colgate –
Thoughts – there are crazy people out there and even if there are just a few, the democrat’s abusive media will amplify and broadcast their idiocy. Why? Because the democrat’s abusive media knows there are really, really gullible followers out there that will swallow and regurgitate their bile.

  4. Phyllis Ver Steege, a local LWV member & friend of Diane Bauman, is also a friend of Kathy Michael. Very concerning.

    1. Indeed it is concerning (especially with all the LWV and power grab for mis/disinformation and the election propaganda we hear on radio in “election safety” and security.

      “trust the system and process”

  5. A recent example exists from what used to be Glenn Beck’s network – The Blaze, which is now Blaze Media. Podcaster Jason Whitlock calls for the 19th to be repealed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7jFbw8OZSc

And while we all know that the internet is a giant echo chamber, the comments are full of validation of his point, saying that women are too emotional to be trusted to vote, etc. ad nauseum. Jason Whitlock is just one example; there are a slew of others.

So again, my question to you is, as a woman who has dedicated years of her life to providing information and encouraging other U.S. citizens to use their right to vote their conscience in this country, what are your thoughts on calls to repeal the 19th amendment?

  6. As I mentioned, you could find a whole host of other people. I did not think it would be that difficult to discuss whether all U.S. citizens should be permitted by their government to cast a ballot.

    1. @Colgate Comedian – Given that this is a very fringe position, and you want to talk about voting.

Maybe it’s more important to consider that non citizens are being issued drivers licenses exactly like American citizens. Then it’s a small step from having a driver’s license to being given a ballot to vote. This is unconstitutional but democrats have decided that you can’t ask for proof of nationality. How convenient!

This threat to the republic is far greater than your fringe non issue.

  7. “Try educating them about their vote” – well that’s why you’re here, isn’t it? 😉

Anyway, I will say what you won’t. I believe in the equality of every citizen and I believe that every citizen has a right to cast a ballot. It is that simple.

    1. I couldn’t disagree more. I believe if you don’t contribute you shouldn’t have a say. It’s sickening to see a hard working taxpayer’s vote cancelled by someone that lives off government handouts. But that’s exactly what the dems want……votes bought and paid for by someone else.

  8. Hey FEDUP, I’ve had a few “questionable” friends over the years because those people treated “me” right. Perhaps they were mere acquaintances that people thought they were my friends. Anyway, my association with them never swayed my beliefs or my stance on politics. I am who I am, no matter the people I might associate with. Keep that in mind.

  9. Why would anyone care about what a bunch of in your business bitties said whether they are based in BN or elsewhere? For any thinking person, the BN membership was always left leaning, hardly a newsflash. The others belonged because they just wanted to be looked at as important. You know, that community leader thing where you could get your picture in the newspaper from time to time and be fawned over at Chamber events. The only thing that changes your life is to leave BN in your rear view mirror. Put your house up for sale (I hear it will sell quick for a big profit) and pack your bags.

      1. If anyone thinks that’s true, BN is really in bad shape. That’s akin to thinking the Red Hat Society has political influence.
