Tent city isn’t only in the original location. I hear more tents are located under the bridge south of downtown, pics needed readers! I hear another tent city is in Normal along Division St. Send pics of that one too.
Tents have also spread east behind Pipe Works. This pic doesn’t show most of the tents, just a couple. That is Constitution Trail in the pic. Feel safe walking or biking within feet of people camping?

When helping Hurts!
Drove by earlier in week. Sad really. These homeless will probably never make or earn enough to even get through the “rent application” process or afford a home unless state and local “NFP” money kicks in (gain voters and congregation that way) I guess. Elites in this area have really bought into a socialist/marxist way of life and money funnel its clear. I pray for all involved as B-N is a good test case for all of the leaders in the county. Its ridiculous really but what do you expect from Sanctuary cities/states. Take all jobs and money away from long/lifelong citizens and taxpayers and hand it to others for gain. Most of these people involved and orchestrating are from the same “churches, NFP and gain ultimately from “helping the poor stay poor”) – Illinois way.
That’s the way democrats operate. Hand out other people’s money and call it compassion.
Started during the Markowitz administration when she pushed Tom Hamilton to make Bloomington a welcoming city for gays.Soon after that you got Renner which further increased the welcoming community garbage. What you are experiencing is the results of podunk city politicians copying large metro idiocy. Live long and prosper.
Markowitz also made an agreement with Chicago when Cabrini green was torn down.
