Update: Hendricks announced his run for mayor today! 😉
By: Diane Benjamin
Just hit Play below to hear the intro by City Manager Jeff Jurgens to the proposed Project Labor Agreement ordinance. He is followed by two alderman happy to see this brought to Council. The two are Tom Crumpler and Cody Hendricks. Jurgens stated he met with union members to draft the ordinance, he didn’t say if he met with non-union contractors. Donna Boelen wanted a few wording corrections. No other Council members commented.
Unions are trying to protect their members and jobs that could go to non-union labor if they bid a job for less than union shops. Instead of being competitive, they buy the government representatives they want. Of course, taxpayers are the ones paying more because nobody is representing them in this arrangement.
Need proof? Here it is: (Sources: https://shorturl.at/Voo48 and https://shorturl.at/IkGDm)

Both of these are contributions by unions to Cody Hendricks – unannounced candidate for mayor.
No wonder he was giddy about the ordinance to protect his buddies last night. Just hit play to hear it yourself:

You know the unions get payback. Presently they contribute 500% more than any other source to local campaigns. In Normal, the unions gave Koos $36,000. This used to be a $14,000 campaign total. Koos reciprocated by pushing to build an RR Underpass that will be a huge money pit for taxpayers. Politicians are using taxpayer funds to buy votes. Wake up taxpayers, you are being outvoted by persons living off government dollars. This will bankrupt our America!
What was the cost for crumpler- a dozen donuts?
He’s up for re-election
Laborers 362 leadership have always been corrupt. The Penn family have always been in the back pocket of local, state and national politicians. Prove me wrong.
I rarely disagree with your opinions Diane. But when it comes to unions, union wages fed and clothed me my whole life growing up. I’m all for it
Non union did the same for me. Government wasn’t coerced to provide work either.
