Eggs up 134%, Bacon 24%

By: Diane Benjamin

Two receipts below are from 2021, the other one is last Saturday. Inflation started with the war on fossil fuels which raised all transportation cost that got priced into everything you buy.

No one has ever proven a link between CO2 and warming. Schools have indoctrinated at least a generation into believing it is true. It looks like NPR forgot not to use Global Warming and instead use the meaningless Climate Change: https://www.nprillinois.org/2024-08-05/in-the-face-of-global-warming-students-are-dreaming-up-a-better-climate-future

Your prosperity is being stolen on purpose.

  1. I wonder why government inflation figures do not reflect food, fuel, and I think, healthcare? those are the areas that hurt most people the most.

  2. Is the bacon price comparison 16 oz to 16 oz? Or 16 oz to the now popular 12oz package?? Price per ounce is the form of inflation that is less noticeable and harder to measure when comparing receipts.

  3. I have been buying Propel Zero Calorie, flavored water for 12 years. Before it was sold to Pepsi/Gatorade. 12 years ago, a 12 pack of 16.9 oz bottles was $2.28 – No receipts, but I have entries in my Quicken going back to 2001. In 2021 it was $4.88, and this week it is $8.98. That’s nearly a 100% increase in less than 4 years.

  4. Anyone see the CEO of Kroger in court the other day for their antitrust case? He admitted that Kroger raised prices on essential goods like milk, eggs, etc to above inflation prices, simply because “they could”? If they’re doing it, so is everyone else…..and now Wal Mart can just somehow decide to lower the prices of over 7,000 items? Hmmm…..”inflation” my ass.
