My Assessed Value, probably yours too

By: Diane Benjamin

All levels of Illinois government can’t collect enough money. They have needs, yours are immaterial. That is what happens in a one party state where taxpayers are immaterial other than PAY IT!

Just wait until the County Board goes blue!

Know what an equalization factor of 1.1143 means? The assessed value of my property in now 11.43% higher than last year. Sure, since I’m not selling I am being taxed on increased value I might never see.

Maybe Illinois can finally make it to #1 for the highest property taxes in the country. Currently we are #2. Expect the Illinois exodus to continue – accept for illegal aliens. You get to pay for them too.

Guess where rents are going?

  1. I love how they give 30 days to file a “complaint” on assessment and see all the local “IT/web/systems” contracts that ROI17 and others are involved with. We know whose getting dough and making the coin on our tax dollars. The GIS system is a mess and putting children in leadership roles county wide in Illinois is part of the bigger issue.

Poor schools and public services…never enough! The state and tax system (state wide) needs to crash and a lot would be exposed- and ain’t pretty.

  2. There is still time to stop a property tax increase. Only need to convince 10 out of 20 county board members to Just Say NO !

  3. IMO, the Steve Scudders of the world are rewarded during their employee performance reviews by increasing the EAV up to the point that they avoid a HAMAS style attack on the County Board.

I had a brief encounter with prospective mayor Dan Brady recently and asked him about property tax relief, more road $$, and a couple of other topics. He said, “we’ll see…..” Anything other than a yes is a NO.

      1. These are the same schools that think TIF Districts work to their advantage. Not as long as local government is involved.
