McLean County property taxes aren’t going down – look at this slide from last week’s County Board meeting and see if you can tell why I know that:

The overall spending is decreasing because the COVID bucks aren’t rushing into the coffers anymore.
Figure out what’s wrong with the slide yet?
For the economics challenged on the County Board:
The EAV – Equalized Assessed Valuation – of properties in McLean County went up 11%.
The house that was $165,000 in FY 2024 is now $183,150.
Is that reflected in the slide? No it isn’t!
$183,150 / 3 = $61,050 (taxable value)
$61,050 * .88653 = $541.23
$541.23 looks like more than the FY 2024 tax of $504.26.

Maybe somebody should ask County Administrator Cassy Taylor why she included disinformation in her presentation!

This is Misinformation, Disinformation,
Lying.
Beirne, District 10 Board member says he is data driven, his wife who is running for Ward 9 Bloomington City Council says “I am a Data Architect with over 15 years of experience in turning data into decisions”.
They want to sew up all citizen representation in North East Bloomington. These people know how to use “data”. They will attempt to use some version of “data” to advance a radical agenda that pivots on anger and exclusion.
Looking at Beirne’s past comments to constituents and grade school parents, and some of Scott’s postions, it is certain that they both not only disagree with, but have open anger at anyone with a different opinion. They do not and will not represent their constituents.
ah, but he DOES represent his constituents – as Beirne was legally elected – so there is that..
hopefully the good voters will not make the same dumb mistake again by electing his protege Erica Larkin this time around.
In the upcoming city wide election voters can avoid higher taxes and progressive socialist spending by NOT electing Bierne’s wife to city council.
The last thing hard working families in our community need is a socialist/progressive power couple like Mr. & Mrs Bierne in office.
On Constituents- That’s true Blind spot but generally when someone wins a position they reach out to the other side to some extent. I’m saying Beirne and Scott (his wife) are not the kind of people that would do that given their bitterness displayed toward anyone that disagrees with them on any policy or philosophy.
They are activists that lean socialist and neo-Marxist (if you believe like I do that the Equity religion is a new form of Collectivism).
they brag about their accomplishments and data abuses and “driving” decisions.
Sounds like a McKinley, Accenture and Maximum and Deloitte “strategy”.
Big money and data grab and abuses of the public, data and Patriot Act and “telling their success stories” – Metrics
Sick county (claiming to be “Christians” many of them too)
