Renewable energy and elections

By: Diane Benjamin

Latest turbine pics, these are all different towers east of Bloomington and all leaking oil:

I could have posted many more leaking oil.

Below is campaign literature for 2 democrats running for the McLean County Board.

What does “fairer” mean? The only way to make something “fair” is to take from someone who has something now and hand it to someone who doesn’t. See socialism, Marxism, or communism. Is that a “brighter” future? It has never worked anywhere.

Advocating for mental health? Tons of money is already going to “Mental Health”, do these two want to spend more?

Fairly drawing maps? That only happens every 10 years after a census.

Does making meetings more accessible mean changing the Public Comment rules so citizens don’t have to wait until the end of a meeting to speak if their topic isn’t on the agenda?

Want more oil leaking turbines? Maybe more solar fields taking crops out of production? Do these two know most solar panels benefit China and are filled with hazardous chemicals? Is that renewable energy?

Improve infrastructure? Isn’t the increased state gas tax already doing that? What roads are they talking about? The country roads are already much better than the City roads the County doesn’t control.

Equity pay and safety? The County employees get a huge increase in the proposed budget. Didn’t Democrats in the past try to defund the Sheriff’s Department? Safety!

If you haven’t figured it out yet, campaigns will say anything to win elections. All you need to know is Democrats run the State of Illinois. Unemployment is higher than the national average and taxes continue to make people leave. After November Democrats can do the same thing to McLean County.

This is the only District electing 2 people.

  1. 1. Cornbelt electric has no knowledge of any plans to power McLean County with renewable energy. They were very surprised and interested in the specifics of this topic.

    2. Cornbelt energy also said theirs no way to add power just for McLean County. It would go into the “grid”.

    3. Unless a wealthy Billionaire funds a Solar farm, Wind Farm, hydro electric, geothermal, or some other power plant, it will be offset by grant dollars. Which are TAX dollars either from State or federal coffers.

    4. Nothing is “free” either the consumer or taxpayers must pay for the products and services. Government does not produce products, it can only provide service. That’s the fundamental difference between a “Common Sense” fiscally responsible governmental elected “REPRESENTATIVE” and those in government that feel tax money is theirs to use SQUANDER on ideological projects.

  2. Good point Diane! “What does fairer mean?”

Democrats are easily triggered to emotional response because of their surface level thinking.
This campaign understands that democrat trigger words = votes.

    Trigger Words for democrats:
Fair (their #1trigger – Implies that anyone that opposes them wants to be unfair so you better vote)

Equity (most don’t know it’s real definition, which is legalizing discrimination, so they use it because it sounds like being fair.)

Kindness (this is the new local “vote democrat” trigger word. It implies that others are purposefully unkind. The only qualification needed to vote for their candidate is that they are “kinder”. Pay no attention to the policy. It’s the proverbial wolf in sheep’s skin trick. It’s also a rerun of the 2020 campaign for Joe – “kinder, gentler”. But look where we are now.)

Inclusion (this implies that everyone else doesn’t believe in including others different than themselves, in other words they are racist.)

Republicans need an answer for democrat trigger words because it is all that is needed to make a case to vote for them. Stating policy or past results is unnecessary and usually only gets in the way.

  3. Speaking of elections the property owners in Funks Grove/Mt Hope townships are being hit by a referendum proposal for the fire protection district tax increase. Just like owners are a never ending source of revenue. Just incredible but then again it’s IL. This one statement sums it up – “supported almost exclusively by real estate revenues”
I don’t know but I’m seriously going to look to sell and leave IL. I’m done with it!
With what they want along with an increase in assessed value and addional airport tax I bet my taxes will increae by $1000 next year.
It looks like to me they need to charge more for ambulance runs. Fire runs I don’t know if they bill for those or not. If not, why not?

Here’s the 3 proposals if I read this flyer correctly.
Annual additional tax per $1,000 assessed value $3
Annual additional tax for a $100K fair market value $99
Tax rate increase from .64646% to .94646%

    1. If you leave, you will not regret it. Just make sure it is to a red state. I spent more money moving and buying a new house but more than worth it when it came to my sanity and that of my spouse. Nothing will ever change where you are. Never. Ever. The cabal that runs things locally, regionally and statewide is
firmly entrenched and will never be eradicated. Once they die, other family members just replace them. It’s neverending and planned that way. Money and possessions mean nothing when your happiness is at stake. It’s not referred to The Elitist Clique for nothing.

  4. A big trick the Dems use is move low income residents downstate to Republican counties, give them subsidized housing. These residents vote Democrat. This is how the red counties go blue.

      1. yep

nepotism (and alumni quiet workforce agreements) is how this area get their wealth and jobs (they just keep paying their dues)

a cult at our expense and the most vulnerable expense…seen way too long

  5. Elizabeth Johnston is sooooo beatable – IF republicans just vote. ‘Ol Buck is just a simp along for the ride.
