Update: 2025 Election clarification

I give up trying to figure out when candidates need to file. If you are running in Bloomington ask BEC, otherwise ask the County Clerk! Some filing dates seem to have been changed. It almost like outsiders need to stay off the ballot.

If anyone wants to try to abolish the Bloomington Election Commission again, a petition has to be filed by 12/30/2024 with the County Clerk. It is WAY past time to end unelected bureaucrats controlling elections in Bloomington when County taxpayers are forced to fund their office. Anyone?

Filing petitions for local offices is from XX/XX1 through XX/XX2. School Boards, Heartland Board, Townships and City Councils and mayors are included.

Of course the April 1st election is immaterial if most people don’t vote.

A measly 20.32% of registered voters everywhere in the County but Bloomington bothered to vote in 2021. https://www.mcleancountyil.gov/DocumentCenter/View/20464/Summary-County-wide-2021?bidId=

In Bloomington only 21.89% bothered to vote. https://results.enr.clarityelections.com/IL/Bloomington/109017/web.276013/#/summary

These offices are the ones taxing you to death, raising property taxes, raising sales taxes, and building monuments to themselves. They are able to do that because the far left votes, the rest of you don’t.

The crackling mayor of Bloomington was elected with 4,487 votes. Chris Koos was elected with 4,543 but acts like nobody disagrees with him on anything. His opponent got 4,101 votes but his supporters have no voice on the council thanks to everyone who didn’t vote.

Remember Unit 5 stating your property taxes wouldn’t go up if you passed their referendum? How’s that working for you? Voters who bothered to vote elected school board candidates the teacher’s union wanted on the board. That means during contract negotiations nobody represented you. Every one of these was elected:

It shouldn’t come as a surprise the new contract thrilled the union members. It was negotiated with themselves.

  1. What specifically BEC and systems/platforms and public/private partners and campaigns are doing is not clear. Circuit Clerk should manage and audit whatever they do. Supposedly saving money on citizen Infosec (probably AWS architecture and shady cloud portals and platforms) data management, system testing and expensive penetration testing is not a good strategy (both sides if aisle at this point involved)

Managed services and data integration practices/platforms and vendor partnerships are not that secure (foreign and domestically)

Also he DNC and Illinois campaign backed ‘Mobilize’ app needs looked into.

    Scaring people from
voting by asking questions is NOT the problem $$&
