Krystle’s unintended consequences

By: Diane Benjamin

Just admit it Krystle, you hate capitalism. If people can’t make a profit providing goods or services they won’t provide them.

Able is a typical democrat who hates business. She believes they have pallets of cash in a backroom and therefore need regulation. The time proven “if you want less of something regulate it” rule of economics is a foreign language to her.

Taken a two year old grocery shopping? Did they throw a fit when you refused to buy them something?

That is Krystle Able. She wants what she wants and you better give it to her. She’s getting more toddlers to help achieve her goal. Unintended consequences are immaterial. If Krystle’s stunt is successful rent will be even higher because some rental properties will disappear.

Try not raising property taxes instead! Who created inflation almost the day they took office Krystle? Proof intended consequences are real. McLean County is stuck with her for another 2 years. She has twins on the ballot next Tuesday. Vote better.

  1. I live in McLean County less than a mile from Normal city limits. The amount of property tax I paid in 2024 was exactly a 10.0% increase over what I paid in 2023. Imagine the outcry if federal income taxes increased 10%. Or state income taxes. It is local officials who can cause the most pain in the pocketbook yet voters don’t seem to hold them to account as much as state or federal officials. I am not a landlord. But if I was I imagine I would have to raise rents to cover property tax increases. Local government is the biggest price gouger of all.

  2. Able is now your new favorite person to belittle and lie about. You have a psychotic need to glum on to one person to write about ad nauseum. You must have a very sorry life that you have to sit behind your computer reading people’s Facebook pages. Ms Able is talking about how housing is expensive. You’re claim is that what Able is doing is somehow wrong. She isn’t. This is just you with nothing to with you life, pointing your fingers at Able.

Organizing for affordable housing is a good thing. It seems you don’t know about capitalism or the fact that Ms Able has the first Amendment rights to write what ever she wants to on her Facebook page.

    1. Ms. Able has a comprehension issue. She wants a rent cap which means screw the landlord. Property taxes continue to increase and she thinks that landlords should not be able to raise to compensate for this. Housing is expensive. Get another job. Get a job period. Stop relying on government to handle your affairs. Ms. Able needs to go along with her socialist attitude. Rent control does not work.

    2. Housing is expensive. Get a job. Stop depending on handouts. This is Able’s whole thing. If I make $100k a year, Able wants a person making $10k year to have the same as I do. There is a word for that. A person’s inability to grow in life is not a problem for everyone else. Define affordable housing? Based on my income I live in affordable housing. For someone with their hand out all year long, it is not affordable. People have gotten lazy because of elected officials like Able. See…I did not call her an elected leader because she leads no one.

  3. I guess that I would feel a little more comfortable if Ms Able would also state that taxes need to be reduced not just rent prices.
I find that Diane just reports the news if Ms Able states that landlords are price gouging she should also comment about how are local governments are price gouging.
I find her, Diane’s comments about capitalism to be true those pushing rent controls are scary. Just saying!
