Don’t Vote without knowing what’s on your ballot!

By: Diane Benjamin

It is the DUTY of every citizen to vote. It is also their duty to be informed before you vote.

If you live in Bloomington, see the non address specific sample ballot here: https://bloomingtonelectionsil.gov/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/24GILBLO_SPECIMEN_FINAL.pdf

The rest of the County can see an exact copy of your ballot by entering your address here: https://www.mcleancountyil.gov/1600/Ballots

Attention Heyworth: You do not want to elect anyone At-Large. That means board members don’t represent anyone – see Town of Normal. It also means all board members could be affluent and have no idea what it means to struggle to pay property taxes.

Also note the 3 advisory questions. These are only on the ballot to prevent the parental rights question from being there. Enough signatures were gathered to get this question on the ballot. The ruling party in Springfield didn’t want your opinion: https://blnnews.com/2024/02/14/parental-rights-in-jeopardy-in-illinois/

Vote no on all 3.

  1. Why anyone would vote to retain Rebecca Simmons Foley as a judge is beyond me. After her inappropriate relationship with another judge in McLean co and the resulting disciplinary action of the state bar association we should not only question her qualifications, but those of her lover Scott Drazewski. Both are unfit. One is on the ballot, the other had enough sense to retire. Anyone who votes to retain Foley is the ultimate uninformed voter.

    1. In McLean County and BN, it doesn’t matter what your behavior is at work or after. It’s always been that way and always will be. The most important aspect is being a member in good standing in the local Elitist Clique. If you are, the Pahtagraph will put your picture in the paper for attending social functions or attending the Dobski’s Super Bowl party.

  2. Heyworth is voting yes for this most likely because no one will run for seats in their area. Lack of candidates in small towns cause this issue. I think Heyworth will be fine. That town has run out superintendents and put pressure on the board when needed.

    1. Ridgeview district and towns have some quietly handled issues $$ as well

Citizens ignore and those that question get retaliated on given fake or wrong answers or info (nothing new)

Fake progress (looks, metrics and appearances are what matters- taxpayers and utility customers and non elitists- not so much) Just a metric…

  3. What are we supposed to vote “No” on all 3? These questions?

    “Should any candidate appearing on
the Illinois ballot for federal, State, or
local office be subject to civil
    penalties if the candidate interferes
or attempts to interfere with an
    election worker’s official duties?”

    “Should the Illinois Constitution be
amended to create an additional 3%
    tax on income greater than
    $1,000,000 for the purpose of
    dedicating funds raised to property
    tax relief?

    “Should all medically appropriate
    assisted reproductive treatments,
including, but not limited to, in vitro
    fertilization, be covered by any
health insurance plan in Illinois that
    provides coverage for pregnancy
    benefits, without limitation on the
    number of treatments?”

    1. The last one is written so poorly that people will fall for it. They do not even list the other treatments that they want covered. It could be anything from abortion to transgender surgeries. Why would we want to put that on the insurance companies when it will just raise all of our insurance premiums?

  4. Just talked to an elderly gentleman from Heyworth he had on a large sticker that said keep democracy vote Harris Walz I asked him about the referendum question on their ballot in Heyworth he didn’t have a clue about what I was talking about I bit my tongue and walked away
Here is a demoncrat getting ready to vote and he doesn’t have a clue about what is on his ballot, a very important question, makes you wonder if he has a clue about the Harris Walz ticket . Another example a lifelong demoncrat that would vote for a monkey as long as the monkey was on the democrat ticket
By the way I read that Harris went to school in Canada think that there might be a little socialist headset there!

    1. LOL Yes- lots of China and Canada model and lovers round here 🙂 Personally I don’t think Illinois or Central Illinois or Local Counties should model Either! But Dems seem to love the Globalist and Marxist social engineering calling it saving Democracy- 🙂

  5. My vote for Foley was a definite “NO”. I should have filed a complaint against her in my mothers guardianship case for what she did. She should have been removed because of the affair a long time ago!

Heyworth tried before to do what they are attempting again and it was voted down. My vote was “NO”.

“NO” on all 3 questions. We already have laws to cover question 1. Enforce those first. Why should succesfull individuals be pentalized to take their earnings to waste. Good grief why force employers and their employees to pay highr premiums? Where does it end?

“NO” an all 3 referudum tax increase options for the Mt. Hope/Funks Grove rescue tax increase. Get the money from the state and not property owners driving us out of our homes because of your never ending tax increases. Good grief their equipment is better than most districts.
