3 things you need to know

Beside massive inflation, high interest rates and minimum wage increases, anybody want to help Krystle understand the housing shortage? Anyone? She’s probably never heard of supply side economics.

The below was received by FOIA. They are excerpts from a Daily Activity report by the Bloomington police. All of these happened in 2023. These are just a glimpse into what police officers deal with everyday.

  1. But, but laying on my back with my legs spread apart is not stressful thank goodness.
Imagine how those poor little ones are feeling where is the father or the mother only one person mentioned
Sterilization mandatory for both fathers and mothers if you can’t raise those little ones that you brought into the world
    How sad!

  2. I’m reading the book – Grand Pursuit, the Story of Economic Genius. A recommended read for Krystal.

Karl Marx would very much agree with Able’s ideas on rent control. He would cut to its natural end though. The greedy bourgeois (Able’s opinion of landowners I imagine) would have all of their property taken away from them by central planning. Central Planning IS what we’re talking about here.

Concerning rent control – history has a way of repeating itself if you don’t study history. This is what happened in post war London –

“For many families, the severe shortage of housing, another residual of the war, was becoming as pressing a problem as the lack of food or jobs. In 1922, the Social Democrats decided to fix rents at four times the prewar level. Since the consumer price index had risen 110-fold since January 1921, the city council was unwittingly decreeing a virtual rent holiday. As a strategy for ending the housing shortage, it was bizarre. As soon as the controls took effect, new construction ceased, existing buildings became more dilapidated, and overcrowding and homelessness grew worse. Intended to protect the poor, the policy blunder kept people from moving, created more inequality, and reduced the savings available for investment.”

    1. I’m guessing ktystle and her fellow leftist progressive marxists know this history and are eager to lead people down the same path. They want destruction. They sure don’t want improvement.

      1. No, I think they want improvement. Everyone does. It’s not a problem that is easily fixed. My issue with them is that their solution is based on the simplistic belief that landowners are rich and greedy. A Marxist economic worldview. When you start from there you aren’t going to solve anything.

  3. Except…well none of it matters any more. Why… you ask? Because I am tired of not talking about what is happening all around us. What is being hidden from us. What is being lied about. Some of you know what is happening. Many of you are clueless to the existence of this hidden world. I will post the most recent article from Mark Crispin Miller….the latest in a stream of articles on this subject that goes back maybe a year and a half (of weekly publications). Go through it and a couple other of his articles. Let me just say, that going through just one article is very depressing. But it is just a snapshot into the REAL world we now all face. Eyes wide open my friends! This is not going away and it is changing our world right before our eyes.

“In memory of those who “died suddenly” in the United States and worldwide, December 16-23, 2024”

  4. Is this blog for news, or mostly just a gossip site about what Krystal Able posts on her Facebook? I enjoy reading this blog when you’re reporting on FOIAs and digging up possible corruption, but if I wanted to see all of Able’s Facebook posts, I would just go to her page. I avoid Able’s bullshit since all it is is bullshit. Once she starts introducing ordinances or resolutions, then maybe I will give a shit about her dumb ideas, but in reality, she’s done a whole lot of nothing with her two years on the McLean County board other than just go along with Lizzy like all the other dumbocrats.

      1. Exactly! I’d rather get a news blurp here than having to track down each person’s thought. That’s the whole point of the blog..to share information so you don’t have to go to their page

  5. I think we all already know that. re-sharing her public posts isn’t accomplishing anything. The GOP needs to run a serious candidate against her, but they keep running candidates who lose.

    1. I said this awhile back in the comments here. I don’t understand what is wrong with the local GOP. Voters have rejected this candidate and they think he has a winning shot. He doesn’t. Krystle is not an un-beatable candidate; the local GOP just doesn’t care enough to find someone who actually can win. This applies to multiple races, not just Normal Township supervisor. One guesses they’re not serious about winning elections because it’s just a little club for them. Embarrassing.

      1. Although I left over three years ago, I am always happy to shed light on the elitist club that runs BN since my job included interaction with many of them. I can guarantee you that many of the poor GOP candidates put forward are because of people like the Dobski’s, particularly Julie, who has to have her hands in everything. The local GOP regularly had and still has meetings hosted by her and she always runs as a delegate to the national convention along with the Brady’s (families not related). Although she may not be on an official committee, people regularly run their ideas through her for some convoluted reason. I would bet my life on it that she has approval of all GOP candidates running in any election. It’s why you never get rid of the stale political stench. She always socializes with the enemy because they all serve on boards together that make decisions for the area. It’s why the local economy never grows, political decisions never change and the personalities never change. They’d rather see everything go to hell than give up power and influence. The woman also has an educational inferiority complex about never going to college. She talked about it ad nauseum. Her need for local control and influence stems from that insecurity.

  6. First what is your solution other than complaining about those who are homeless? The fact is that homeless has skyrocketed. You have repeatedly complained about those who are less fortunate than you. You then proceed to demonize the homeless with random police reports.. You don’t want to spend the money to even begin to fix the housing problem.

The other fact is that your trolling Krystal Able Facebook page is reprehensible. You have no clue what “Marxism” means. You put that label on anyone who is expressing an opinion or facts you don’t like. You proceed to label it wrongly as “Marxism”. If Groucho Marx rose from the dead you still won’t know what “Marxism” entails.

She’s unqualified? Gee, Trump is appointing one unqualified person after another. Even Tump is unqualified to be president.

You also get your facts wrong. Inflation is at 2.7 percent, the Fed has been lowering interest rates for months. It’s you who doesn’t understand economics.

      1. so deport all the illegals and suddenly the housing crisis is fixed and 8,000 affordable homes will suddenly become vacant in Bloomington-Normal?

Bloomington-Normal has been behind on housing since the 1940s when the town was listed in the news as being one of the cities most behind building more housing. We have never caught up. The housing crisis has existed far longer than trump, existed during trump, and will exist after trump.

  7. I like the continuation of some people’s headset either Trump is responsible for all bad problems in America and COVID contributed the rest.
How about not taking personal responsibility and exhibiting poor character traits for putting a majority of people into the sad state of affairs that they find themselves in!
Gee could it be that simple

  8. The chamber ‘o commerce and the same PAC that had elizabeth johnston solicit donations on public property are fine with Ms. Able as Normal Twp. Supervisor.

  9. Some of the comments on here about housing are downright laughable and ignorant. Providing housing whether in BN or elsewhere is an expensive proposition. It’s probably worse in BN because of all the legal hoops and expense builders encounter. It’s no secret that BN tap on fees to hook up water, gas and sewage were some of the most expensive in downstate Illinois. Back in the day, when BN was actually experiencing a population increase, much of the housing was built on speculation, meaning it was built in anticipation of a buyer that had yet to come forward. Older housing in town was so old, that much of it was in need of serious rehab just to bring it up to current codes that was not attractive to a new buyer or seller. “Affordable housing” has always been a misnomer and frequently spouted by the economically ignorant. Nothing, even HUD funded or Section 8, isn’t attractive to anyone running a business to pay wages or make a profit. The materials still cost the same as well as the fees and taxes that are based on lot size and square footage. In an inflated or non-,inflated economy, housing is always going to be the most expensive item in a family budget. This concept that someone owes you a cheap place to live at their loss defies all logic. No one is racing to live in BN. What’s at the base of the argument is someone wanting to live high on the hog at a basement price or wanting soneone else to pay their bills.

  10. The housing demand is there but the supply isn’t. Why?

Investors look at the sentiment of the community. They listen to the online comments. Who’s in charge, what do they believe? Investors won’t invest in a community where they are not free to set their own price for their product. They will move to a free market.

  11. Krystle believes we owe her followers cheap rent. She never talks about landowners high taxes and insurance costs. The rent here is fairly typical of anywhere else in central Illinois. MPeabody is correct no one is racing to move here unless they want the democrats free stuff that this county is dying to hand out. Soon or if not now in this community the people getting handouts will out number those who pay for it.

  12. Krystal isn’t “able” to use logic or reason. She lives on feelings and emotions. No doubt she thinks she could make Marxism succeed when everyone else has failed because she’s never had anyone honest enough in her life to tell her that she’s not so bright. You don’t have to be mean to her. Just tell her, “honey, you aren’t Mensa material.”

As for stirred up… yeah she can get some folks all “excited” with her public displays of ignorance. Pro-tip: get off Facebook. Reclaim that time for you and your family. You’ll thank me later.

The McGOP in town? They need to go the f*** away from politics. Their eGOP & Never Trump beliefs need to be purged. If not they’ll have to do it with people not giving them a red cent.
