I hope by posting this information you realize Illinois uses your tax dollars to further agendas they didn’t state when they ran for office. It also shows NGO’s like the ACLU claim to protect civil liberties while actually only protecting rights government endorse.
Finding payments made by the State of Illinois are difficult at best. In order to see payments made to specific vendors you have to have their EIN number. For nonprofits it’s on their tax return. https://illinoiscomptroller.gov/vendor-services/vendor-payments-new?TimedOut=True
These payments are listed as paid to the Roger Baldwin Foundation of ACLU INC. The only “civil liberties” the ACLU protect now are the ones this Illinois government wants people to have. This groups EIN number is 36-2682569
Those payments total $165,800.39

The page is instructions for encounters with ICE – Know Your Right. The only “Rights” listed is don’t talk to ICE. Since immigration is in the Constitution as controlled by the federal government only, this NGO conflicts with that mission. Remember when the Supreme Court ruled against states who wanted to control immigration themselves when the Federal government refused?
Illinois was sued by the Federal government for obstruct law enforcement. So how much of your money was funneled to this organization recently to obstruct law enforcement?

Diane, what you’ve left out is that those payments are for legal settlements in judgements where the ACLU won in court against Illinois. The ACLU doesn’t receieve government funding. This is a gross misrepresentation of the truth. You can see that when you click on the warrant information next to the transaction amount.
Illegal aliens don’t become legal because you or Biden say they are. People who can’t afford rent and groceries don’t want their money thrown away on illegals
Diane, did you read their comment? The ACLU sued and was awarded those funds in court. The state is then obligated to pay their court judgments. They are not voluntarily sending funds to the ACLU to further an agenda.

The Illinois comptroller link that you linked to is specifically about state funds that go toward efforts specifically directed to asylum seekers. Asylum seekers are not, by law in the United States, considered “illegal immigrants.”
