Is Normal going to elect a Communist?

By: Diane Benjamin

The GREATEST generation defeated communism. It doesn’t work, it’s back anyway. Even the Democrat Party never let Bernie Sanders be the nominee!

  1. We already have leftist progressive marxists running Normal into the ground. High crime, deteriorating infrastructure, High taxes, High undeserving salaries to public employees, High crime, High taxes, too many public employees on the taxpayers dime.

  2. I am happy to know that it’s because of me that she blocked anybody who’s not her friend from commenting on any of her posts. All I did was argue that jobs like cashiers at a grocery store should not be careers and therefore, don’t really deserve a living wage, whatever that means. The level of hate I received from her friends for saying that was outstanding. Just shows that this bloated, windbag cant handle different opinions.

    1. Dawg – Typical. Corey Beirne does the same thing. Only people who agree with his identity politics ideology are allowed to talk to him. You can’t ask him any questions to clarify his positions because he can’t/won’t answer them. I’ve seen it play out.

I wonder if he asks the parents of his students what their political leanings are before he gives them a progress review of their kids.

    2. A living wage just means that someone doing a job is paid enough to afford food, healthcare, and a place to live. Why don’t cashiers deserve this? Folks like you often claim that fast food and grocery store jobs are for highschool kids, but the vast majority of these jobs are actually held by middle-aged people just trying to get by. You can see that if you go to any store in town.

What do you do for a living? Let the audience here decide if you have a “career” and deserve your wage.

      1. As diane has already said, your worth is determined by the employer. Jobs that require absolutely no skill get the lowest pay. And if you don’t try and better yourself, you don’t deserve anymore.

And as far as what I do, i’ve had many careers. I’ve had crap jobs where I was paid very little. And i’ve had jobs that paid me very well. And right now, I trade stocks, currencies, crypto, etc. And I also drive rideshare. But what I do is completely immaterial to the fact that low skilled jobs get lower pay

  3. Here is a Grok AI analysis of the additional cost of Krystal’s wish list.

    Grand Total:
    • Principal Cost: $25.56–38.65 trillion
    • Interest Cost: $4.4735–6.76375 trillion
    • Total Cost with Interest: $29.96–45.24 trillion over 10 years
    • Average Annual Cost increase: $2.996–4.524 trillion per year

Total New Tax Revenue must double.
    Current Revenue: $4.5–5.0 trillion.
    Additional Revenue Needed: $4.5–6.5 trillion.

Here is what it would cost taxpayers to cover this.
    • Per Capita Impact:
    • Median household income ~$60,000.
Tax increase = 57–82% of median income per household ($34,052.50–$49,430 annually)

On top of that all these taxes will increase joblessness and reduce the tax base.
More debt = higher taxes = fewer taxpayers = more debt = higher taxes = a death spiral into Red Terror Communism.
Time to grow up Krystal – What can we do? DOGE is a great start.

  4. From above. “A living wage just means that someone doing a job is paid enough to afford food, healthcare, and a place to live. Why don’t cashiers deserve this? Folks like you often claim that fast food and grocery store jobs are for highschool kids, but the vast majority of these jobs are actually held by middle-aged people just trying to get by. More and more middle aged and retired people are back in the labor force due to the insane monetary policies and inflation brought on by the O’Biden administration and his communist sh*thead puppet masters.

    You “REALLY?” are stupid.

    1. ah, yes, but I am sure what Trump is currently doing to completely tank the economy is ok, right? Let me guess, youre one of those people claiming we have to make it worse before it gets better and that it’s all because he is un-doing what Biden did, right? Because nothing is EVER Trumps fault…..I mean, a guy who couldnt make a casino profitable and declared bankruptcy 7 times obviously knows what he’s doing….

      1. My guess is you aren’t old enough to remember what Reagan has to do to fix the Carter years. Biden (actually his staff) fling printed money out the door and created inflation. It can’t be fixed overnight.

  5. One thing I do agree with that others have said and that is the minimum wage issue. Minimum wage has lagged far behind over the years and never should have been stagnant while cost of living and inflation have risen. At one time, like in the 1950’s, a one person’s income could support a family on minimum wage. Leaving wages to employers can and will open the door for abuse. It sounds great to let an employer decide what you are worth but they can also hold back wages since they are about making money. Middle aged people are working these minimum wage jobs because like myself, we have been laid off so many times by companies during liberal administrations that a lot of us just can’t start over. Most of my life I have had to work 2 jobs because minimum wage wasn’t enough. If employers really should set wages then why aren’t most jobs above that minimum wage right now? There are many successful people that started out in companies that are considered non career jobs. Many have bought their own franchise. So, saying these jobs aren’t career jobs is misleading. There is a good Bible verse you all should look up, James 5:1-6 regarding employers holding back wages. This is one area as a conservative that I stand with the other side as a middle aged worker.

    1. Things to know when you’re a conservative. When you own your own business YOU should determine what you pay your employees and not the government. Employees can choose to work for you or choose to work someplace that pays better. You can choose to pay more to keep good workers. Government needs to keep their over reaching greedy hands off your business. If you were a conservative you would know this. Waiting tables, cashiering, fast food jobs, these are not careers. They are not meant to provide great income. These are small money, you work these for extra income or until you can find a career or stable income someplace in something sustaining that pays better, while you work your way Up or out if your current situation. Why do you think small businesses struggle? Demands of government are a burden! Covid policies imposed by government put many out of business.

Government is too big! Go DOGE!

And incase you didn’t know, Social security is not retirement!

      1. and they do….and when they chose to work elsewhere that pays more and forces that other business to close or be short staffed, you then complain that they are woke and nobody wants to work anymore. Or you leave a bad review saying the service sucked because it was slow due to being short staffed. Then you mock the employees and dont leave a tip saying they dont deserve one. Youi people crack me up. You mock these folks for wanting a living wage and tell them to get a real job, so when they leave and there’s nobody at McDonalds to take your order, forcing you to use a kiosk, you blame wokeness, CNN, and liberals….

    2. So you’re saying there are people who started at the bottoming companies and then work their way up? Which is exactly the point that we are making.

In the vast majority of jobs out there pay more than minimum wage.

    3. So true! The workforce and job situation is a mess for many by design locally.

Seen sine even blocking certain folks out of the workforce entirely or even systematically blacklisting to bring in new DEI hires in. (Its not about skills trust me)

Execs making these HR and HCM decisions are not impacted (its the worker bees who are (its a huge project and $ funnel)

Keep on chugging and speaking truth!

  6. Then take a better job. Exactly. There are choices out there. Why ask the government to get involved. When I say work your way Up I’m saying to aspire to higher positions with more responsibility which pay more or take a job at a company that offers more. Don’t expect the government to step in a unilaterally say all businesses must pay at least “$X “to employees, all must offer benefits of “X”, all must provide “X” . Then step back and see how many small businesses cannot continue to exist with burdensome regulation placed on them. The tax burden alone in Illinois is stifling.

    1. And don’t forget that just as democrats want to dictate that you can make a career out of minimum wage work, they also want to decide who is making too much money. They want to adjust tax rates to make the 1%er’s pay for their ridiculously expensive and anti-productive policies. Problem is there aren’t enough 1%er’s in America to foot this bill.

  7. Does a living wage include that one person should be able to live on their own without room mates?

  8. We have a Communist president currently destroying democracy as we speak so might as well get some local ones in office to smooth the transition…..

      1. Directly from the Federal budget information on the house.gov site….
Trump added in his first term, 8.8 trillion to the national debt, Biden added 4.3 trillion
