Need another reason to leave Illinois?

This just might make everyone with common sense realize there is no hope for Illinois:

According to the State of Illinois, local governments must allow “camping” on public property:

I wonder how Illinois lawmakers would feel if “camping” was all over the capitol building grounds? Do the Normal mayoral candidates know they have to allow “camping” in Uptown?

Is Bloomington really going to spend MILLIONS on downtown when “camping” must be allowed?

Good luck with all those seasonal events planned for the good weather. Illinois bleeding heart liberals want your money – not your opinion.

  1. If Koos Folly, the underpass, is ever built, it’s sure to end up a toilet for the homeless.

  2. Would be interesting if local governments could require a permit to “camp” on public property and still be compliant with state law. I think permits are sometimes required to camp in state and national parks. If so, it would be a great loophole to this misguided law.

  3. It enhances the current roadside litter in IL. and on public property.
Seriously I thought a homeless person(s) were camped along the intersate ramp near where I live when I saw the sofa seat cushions and garbage along the side of it.

I watched some of the Dr. Phil primetime show this week about the homeless. I don’t know what the answer to it is. The way I look at it is if there are housing services available camping should not be allowed. I don’t want to say they should be arrested but rather encouaged to move on if they aren’t using the services.

I like what the Home Sweet Home Mission is planning to do with their planned gated housing area.

  4. Maybe there should be a camping grounds established somewhere at the edge of the city where all can camp in one location. It could be monitored for public safety. No public alcohol, drugs and litter, the same rules everyone else has to live by.

  5. Another reason to leave IL also?

WGLT – “Illinois eyes taxing drivers by the mile — rather than by the gallon of gas”
Figures, legislation introduced by 2 Democrats!
The pig trough of fuel taxes is getting less revenue to keep the trough full.

  6. If I was homeless I would be staying in uptown Normal. I recall them with their vision hoping people would be laying out in the grass painting pictures or playing music so that’s what I would all day long.

  7. I thought Illinois was bad when my wife and I fled nearly 7 years ago. It’s gotten so much worse since then. We thank God we left when we did!

  8. Oh wow, taxing miles driven next? And we thought uber was expensive now. Wait until that kicks in. Holy crap Batman! Gee. Order a $20 meal for delivery and by the time you get it, fiddy bucks!

  9. So if camping is allowed on public property that means the council chambers are open to homeless camps as well as mayors office.
