Gas price yesterday at a Mobile station in Belvidere Il:

.
Gas price yesterday at a Mobile station 20 miles north in Clinton Wisconsin:

.
Illinois motor fuel tax now: 47 cents a gallon
Wisconsin motor fuel tax now: 30.9 cents a gallon.
The difference is 17.9 cents per gallon. The price difference is 30 cents a gallon.
Wisconsin has wonderful roads, Illinois has roads that are closer to cow paths.
Clinton Wi always has the cheapest gas, further into Wisconsin the price was closer to $3.05 a gallon.
The Motor fuel taxes above don’t include local motor fuel taxes added.

Just returned from a weekend in Missouri, $2.79 – $2.89 was common most everywhere, should have taken a picture.
Just returned from vacation. Lowest gas price was $2.81.
Here in Tennessee our gas $2.59
ILLannoy now talking about adding taxes to advertising. Seriously, this government is gone rogue and wants to tax EVERYthing. Of course it’s been said before but as the carbon tax is big governments dream come true that is a breathing tax as we exhale carbon.
And yet, with annually increasing motor fuel taxes AND sales tax on top of motor fuel taxes, IDOT says IL 150 (Morrisey Drive) will not see attention until 2027. It is nearly impassable now.
IDOR announced May 12 five new taxing changes….and they are not being reduced. Perhaps a tax credit for KY Lubricant is in order.
