Remember the Connect Transit Gravel Lot?

By: Diane Benjamin

FYI: I won’t always be writing early in the morning because of garden work that I want to do early – before it gets hot.

I wrote about this gravel lot here: https://blnnews.com/2025/07/02/connect-transit-gravel lot

Connect needed a place to park all the buses that don’t run. Most, if not all, are electric. Many aren’t very old. Tax dollars were thrown away and nobody seems to care. I wonder if the buses will live there forever!

By FOIA I was told 10 buses are parked on the new lot. This is what the gravel lot cost:

Since the buses aren’t operational, they had to have been towed. I didn’t include that cost in my FOIA. Instead below are bills labeled “towing” for payments made in April and May.

This March payment might be involved, maybe others will be in this months packet:

Do a lot of buses break down on routes and need towed? If not, these are probably for moving them from the existing parking lot to the gravel area.

Congrats taxpayers!
