Are Solar Farms Noisy? YES!

The proposed solar farm east of Bloomington isn’t contiguous:

Excerpts:

The transformers in the solar facility are used to step-up the voltage for easier transmission into the local electrical grid. There are three sources of noise from within the transformer: (1) core noise, (2) coil noise, and (3) fan noise.

The easiest and least expensive form of noise control at a solar facility is to locate the sound-producing equipment in the center of the facility.

Look again at the map above. How can the sound-producing equipment be located in the center? How many transformers will be installed because the properties aren’t contiguous? How many residents of this area know this project not only destroys valuable farmland and the landscape, but also their peaceful existence?

The Edgar County Watchdogs just did a story about solar farm noise: https://edgarcountywatchdogs.com/2025/07/solar-farm-noise-vermilion-county/

Excerpt:

The below video from the University of Illinois’ Solar Farm was taken within the past couple of days in the Vermilion County, Illinois, area – would you want to live next to this noise 24-7?

The story has video of the equipment – including the sound!

There is only one reason solar farms are being built:

  1. Maybe the solar farmers can hire the new occupants of the tiny house development to clean the panels….
    Win, Win (not wind) LOL

  2. At the risk of sounding cold and heartless you really wouldn’t expect those that are living and eating for free to actually do any kind of physical work.
Even our good Lord made a statement if you are hungry “work”.
But that would make our wonderful left thinking people feel bad.
So,keep paying your taxes and shut up!!!!!!!
