Illinois discriminates against White Males

By: Diane Benjamin

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion requires discrimination.

CEI is an Illinois government Commission on Equity and Inclusion. This quote is from a document produced as a result of a survey on procurement in the private sector:

By addressing these challenges head-on, CEI will help pave the way for a more inclusive, equitable, and thriving Illinois, where businesses owned by minorities, women, and persons with disabilities and all Illinois employees are empowered to succeed. We look forward to continuing this work with our partners across the state, building on the valuable insights these surveys provide, and fostering an environment where all can flourish.

The State of Illinois put in law the theory of LOW EXPECTATIONS for minorities, women, and persons with disabilities. This commission was established to urge discrimination in the private sector for what State agencies purchase. When they request quotes for what they want to purchase is there a line item for the color etc of the owner of the company?

If that line item says “white” is their quote tossed?

See this document: https://www.illinois.gov/content/dam/soi/en/web/cei/documents/Diversity%20Training%20Report%20-%20Commission%20on%20Equity%20and%20Inclusion%202023.pdf

That shows survey results on diversity trainings. From that document:

Participation was low: 73 responses were received for the Workplace Diversity Training Survey, and 65 were collected for the Procurement Supplier Diversity Training Survey.

This Commission was established to discriminate. It has 7 members with the following salaries (when the commission was established):

The Chairperson of the Commission shall be compensated at the rate of $128,000 per year, or as otherwise set by this Section, during his or her service as Chairperson, and each other member shall be compensated at the rate of $121,856 per year, or as otherwise set by this Section. In addition, all members of the Commission shall be reimbursed for expenses actually and necessarily incurred by them in the performance of their duties.

That quote is from this link which recaps the law requiring this commission: https://law.justia.com/codes/illinois/chapter-30/act-30-ilcs-574/

Another quote from https://www.illinois.gov/agencies/agency.cei.html

The Commission on Equity and Inclusion (CEI) will assist minorities, women, persons with disabilities, and veterans, build their American dream by providing fair access to job and contracting opportunities with the State. CEI shall help the State enhance its workplace culture so people with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and ideas are respected and valued. CEI will champion all individuals pursuing equitable stakes within the marketplace.

Identity politics is alive and well in Illinois. Merit is immaterial since the State knows the people listed above aren’t capable obtaining government contracts on their own. Procurement with State tax dollars is not directed to the most qualified businesses. It is directed to who checks the right boxes.

This only came to my attention because of a press release stating this commission will have booth at the State Fair: https://www.illinois.gov/news/release.html?releaseid=31521

Click that link to see who the media contact is. It is the same person who ran for McLean County Clerk in 2018. She ran then on identity politics with claims of discrimination. She was soundly defeated.

I have no problem with the Federal government withholding funds from Illinois since the State continues to discriminate using DEI as an excuse.

  1. And we wonder why the state is in the habit of hiring so many private contractors. Well of course theres that probably kickback thing for friends of the regime too.

  2. If you use Unit 5’s equity definition for who should be rewarded with preferential treatment, white males aren’t the only ones condemned to rejection. They are on the top of the list though.

Pg 119 – “Dominant (dominant culture) All dominant or historically unjustly rewarded identities such as
White, male, heterosexual, cisgender, upper class, abled-bodied, U.S. born, native English speaker,
college-educated, Christian, young, desirable in stature, size, and appearance.”

Of course the self appointed powerful get to pick and choose who’s in and who’s out and that will change on a daily basis because marginalized is an ever growing category with many people fighting to be included.

For example, just on the gender front – LGBT of a couple years ago has grown to LGBTQICAPPGGFNNBAA2S – Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Curious, Asexual/Aromantic/Agender, Pansexual, Presenting (feminine, neutral, androgynous), Gender Non-Conforming, Gender Fluid, Feminine-presenting/Fluid, Neutral, Non-Binary, Bigender, Androgynous, Ally, Two-Spirit
Then there are the – Therians and Otherkins that identify as animals or mythical beings. And I’ve probably just scratched the surface.

They say we need more money for mental health support. It will be a liberal support system that affirms these socially constructed identities instead of addressing them. Especially if this help comes from our school systems. It is doomed to failure.

The root of the problem is our loss of a moral compass. We untethered our children from the anchor of our creator’s truth. It started in our education system combined with a lack of parenting. Now many of our kids and adults are lost and wandering in a cosplay wilderness of their own making trying to find truth where it doesn’t exist.
    Sorry for the rant.
