The City of Bloomington obviously doesn’t believe in Martin Luther King’s vision of not judging people by the color of their skin. It appears they think no person of color is capable of succeeding on their own merits.
In the latest version of expanding government and wasting money on non-essential events, see this web page: https://www.bloomingtonil.gov/community/community-relations/inclusion-access-compliance-symposium
This event has zero diversity and inclusion of opinions . It doesn’t bridge any landscapes – it creates caverns by reinforcing the soft bigotry of low expectations. Facilitators are present to make sure the desired outcome and goals are produced.

“NAVIGATING INCLUSION & ACCESS COMPLIANCE: BRIDGING DIVIDES IN A SHIFTING LANDSCAPE“
The page lists the speakers and facilitators. Research each person, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are believed by all. Anti-racism is reverse racism because it requires discrimination. Information on all involved is below. It shouldn’t be a surprise that many of them are affiliated with ISU.
Speakers:
Dr. Toure Reed:
Dr. Andre W. Allen:

Facilitators:

Bloomington’s own Diversity and Inclusion officer isn’t listed as participating: https://www.bloomingtonil.gov/Home/Components/StaffDirectory/StaffDirectory/84/
Is that because this was his idea? Who decided this was a good idea? How much is it costing the citizens of Bloomington?

What a monumental waste of time, money and energy.
DEI uses the metric of disparity of outcomes for its focus, but it doesn’t consider one of the major causes of this disparity – the breakdown of the family. This has been shown to negatively affect income level, academic achievement, discipline problems that lead to incarceration, physical and mental health problems, drug addiction. These are the exact same things DEI says it will fix.
In effect DEI misdiagnoses the problem. Even though we know family breakdown is a problem, DEI ignores it.
When you misdiagnose a problem the remedies you use will not just fail but they will do major damage to the patient. In this case DEI will cause further dependency, institutional labeling, and continued degrading of disparity of outcomes. It’s a vicious cycle that will never end.
Is this why Unit 5 warns that Equity is a never ending quest?
U5 Equity Audit Pg 117 – “It is critical for the district and its stakeholders to fully understand there is no final destination to reach equity. There is no stopping point. It is a constant, prevalent, and complex paradigm in efforts to maximize humanity and social justice for historically marginalized identities.”
True equity must include family restoration, not just institutional policy. Until it does it is bound to failure.
Dr. Nomo Bullshit ~ hereby applies to be included in the festivities of education to the attendees. Accomplishments include 60 years of life supporting myself, only three hours of jail, working, inadvertenly paying voluntary taxes, cutting my own grass, and getting along in society with different peoples. http://www.nomobullshit/govsux/esp.here/hellinois/call-me
I assume that’s a parody site, but I got nothing clicking it
Another DEI failure? Bad website? Go figure.
