Assessment Notices Could be Wrong

By: Diane Benjamin

I was contacted by 3 people yesterday who got assessment notices for properties they don’t own.

Here’s the explanation, this isn’t a County Clerk error. Kathy is just forwarding information:

Printing error? Hum. Who is going to pay to mail new ones. Guess.

  1. Our Tax Dollars:
Waste, fraud, abuse, and mistakes by incompetent, unqualified, persons in jobs collecting paychecks for jobs they shouldn’t have. Why were they hired? Why didn’t they hire qualified, competent employees?

  2. Mine was wrong. Noticed it right away. Then confirmed the parcel number on the inside was not our parcel number. I’m sure the % increase is correct. 9.14%. 11 months left in ILLinois. Then we are out to warmer weather and lower taxes.

  3. It sounds like ALL cards for McLean County went to the wrong address. Also sounds like everyone’s REAL assessment for next year’s tax went up 9+% (be sure to change the dropdown year online). How can everyone’s go up the same?? And we’re paying for what?? This state/ county/ city/ unit5 are all evil and will suck our life’s savings out of all of us if we do not LEAVE. I am making plans, hoping for a different future…😓

  4. I got two for my business and one for my home. They all listed the properties as “Farmland” and the notice said “Farmland Reassessment”. This is on top of incorrect billings for Ridgeview Schools that came from the County earlier. There are a lot of incompetent boobs in our county government. No one ever seems to the fired or disciplined and the goofs cost the taxpayers money.
