I am not speaking about anything on the agenda. I will post a story before 6:00 tonight with details.
Agenda: https://bloomingtonil.portal.civicclerk.com/event/1009/files/agenda/6790
Missing Middle Housing and zoning changes are back again. The agenda doesn’t mention the City Manager exceeding his $50,000 spending limit by hiring Opticos.
Did you know Chicago has Missing Middle Housing too?
State of Illinois also had committee hearings on Missing Middle last September:
Of course nobody is stating the obvious: Open borders allowing millions of people to flood the country are living somewhere. They created much of the housing shortage by competing with citizens for affordable housing.
Also on the agenda is the police department continuing to use a different company than the County to manage lots of aspects of what they do. See the documentation here: https://bloomingtonil.portal.civicclerk.com/event/1009/files/report/1184
Bloomington is claiming the County system isn’t fully working.
The total cost is $13,559,883.81, but that amount is the total for 12 years. There is no mention of what happens to that price if inflation goes back to 9% or more during the contract.

Missing Middle zoning changes are just the tip of the iceberg. The rest has to do with making developers feel safe committing their capital to a particular community. How many state and local incentives will tax payers have to come up with so that builders can overcome the Biden inflation of materials, labor and interest costs? What is the risk from the political environment of the city and county? Local Socialist politicians who’s hero’s are Bernie Sanders, Mamdani and Karl Marx don’t make economic sense. They think all developers and landlords are greedy and taxpayers are rich.
Developers will go elsewhere, landlords will sell out to slumlords, taxpayers will get “another day older and deeper in debt”.
“St. Peter don’t ya call me ‘cause I can’t go, I owe my soul to the government dole”. TE Ford
Duh, simple law of supply and demand. Basic economics. Basic!!! Country fills up with invading replacement scale immigration of at least 30 million, another 22 million of visiting visas. Housing dries up, wages suffer. Add it up 52 million with a poplutaion of 330 million almost a strain of 16%. Yeah there’s going to be a problem. The life raft is full, taking on water and the idots are still taking in more people as the sharks are circling.
This agreement with AXON is very concerning. AXON has all the tools that can quickly turn into big brother/police state very quickly “under one roof”. TASERS, body cams, squad cams, DRONES. The agreement presented states they will be replacing the FLOCK cameras we see ALL OVER mounted on the streetlights and along the roads. They own all the data. Are the selling this data? Are the citizens of Bloomington giving permission for them to have this data? If so, how is this being done? Their AI writes initial reports for officers. How is AI capturing what the officer sees, feels, etc.? Can AI testify in court? AXON has become a huge company rather quickly and they are everywhere. I have a very bad feeling about where this could possibly be headed.
AXON AI writes the reports so the DEI hires don’t have to.
