Parents of students in Unit 5 consider this comment by Board Chair Alex Williams hate speech:

Alex Williams thinks Trump voters and Fox News viewers are the dregs of society. He thinks Christians are hypocrites. He thinks all white people are racist. A person willing to post this comment publicly is not capable of keeping his personal beliefs out of every decision he makes. His negativity affects the education Unit 5 students are receiving.
The local media doesn’t care and it appears Country Companies (his employer) doesn’t care either. But where is Not In Our Town? From the NIOT Facebook page:

The comment made by Alex Williams is textbook bigotry and bullying. Crickets from this group. NIOT is therefore immaterial.
I have Country Companies insurance. Looks like it’s time to change that.

Tear up those Pledge Card, they are meaningless.
This media fail is not the first and certainly won’t be the last.
I know as a white male, if I expressed my worldview as openly as Mr. White does, I wouldn’t have a job at Unit 5. If I worked at Country Companies, I would be unemployed, or at least suspended.
Equity says discrimination is acceptable. Racism is OK if it is against the right person. These beliefs are wrong and should not be tolerated, especially in an educational setting.
Racism is OK if it’s against the right person? How much Racism have you faced? None.
I wonder what County Companies would say if they knew you were posting on this blog. Should you be fired? Since we’re talking about firing what about firing those who comment on this blog.
Cute. I’ve been called a racist and worse for over a decade. I’ve filed 3 police reports since 2012 against serious harassment. I’ve had people parked across the street watching my house. Funny how they leave when I walk out with a telephoto camera and take pics of their license plate.

Question – is discrimination against someone with light colored skin as bad as discrimination against someone with dark colored skin? Yes or No. In my book they are both racism.
How do you know the racism one has faced. You do know people of color can be racists? Country doesn’t care. They want their premiums paid. They are not going to tell her to take down her post. You are wild. Misinformed and need educated on the facts. Scary.
This “Christian nation” and the Constitution allows people to be who they want to be. It does not condone reverse racism, discrimination, etc. Try being you in China or Somalia, or somewhere else. Man I am so sick of these ungrateful idiots.
A lot of companies have personal conduct clauses that have to be signed off on before employment is offered and termination can result if there are violations. I’ve personally kept my mouth shut for many years worrying about getting fired for saying the wrong thing and having some nut job demand my employer get rid of me. So I just keep my opinions to myself because I need the income and benefits. So much for freedom of speech.
I’m in my early 60’s and don’t ever remember local elected officials when I was a young Reaper telling people on one side of the aisle “I don’t work for you”. This area has changed a lot folks. It didn’t used to be this way. I don’t see any way that we move back to the best interest of all if my lifetime.
Speech is speech. We either have free speech or we do not. Tired of those who claim they believe in free speech and our Constitutional rights wanting something called Hate Speech enforced. We are in trouble. And who is the arbiter of hate speech? Are you seeing how this works in other countries. I don’t want it. We should not have it.
You can complain about his speech, sure. You can dislike it, sure. But yet you want to be able to say what you want to without being policed. Others may consider your speech as hate speech. So understand, believing in “hate speech” to me is far worse than that man’s disgusting opinion. Please consider this.
Free speech means consequences for what is said.
We need to know who the radicals are, Williams needs to keep talking.
