The current Sales tax rate is 10.25, if Pritzker signs the bill it increases to 10.5%

Bloomington and Normal have the same Sales Tax rate – 9.75%:

.
Aren’t you proud the local Sales Tax rate almost matches Chicago? The 1% School Facilities Tax was put on a local elections ballot because they knew few people vote in local elections. Since the Sheriff’s office and State’s Attorney haven’t provided any information on the complaint pertaining to collusion between the school districts, it’s likely safe to assume it’s been buried. (Prove me wrong)
Keep in mind these numbers don’t include the local Food and Beverage Tax. Next year Normal will be charging more than Bloomington to build their tunnel and 2 parks to save walking 50 feet. Add 2% to the 9.75% until Normal adds another .25%.
Eating out in Bloomington? 11.75%
When Normal increases theirs, you will pay 12.0%
I won’t ask again for people to vote in local elections. Obviously at least 80% don’t care.

I would think the people who receive your news updates vote much more than those who don’t.
Probably but they aren’t dragging friends and neighbors with them. Most people don’t even know when elections occur unless it’s for president
