ISU comes up short in more ways than one

By: Diane Benjamin

The Illinois State University football team came from behind to force overtime last night for the FCS championship. The team ended up losing by 1 point. They deserve to be proud of what they accomplished.

Meanwhile, an ISU professor was one of the organizers of the protest Sunday: https://www.25newsnow.com/2026/01/05/activists-protesting-us-military-force-venezuela-gather-busy-bloomington-shopping-center/#aj0ltkn477e8vlubp6audiolk8wpxhqt

Excerpts:

Activist group Bloomington Normal 50501 organized this pop-up demonstration at Lakewood Plaza, where Hy-Vee and Binny’s Beverage Depot are located.

The president does not have the power to unilaterally and effectively declare war or unseat governments in other countries,” said Michael Gizzi, who’s one of the organizers.

Since war was not declared and even the Biden Administration knew Maduro wasn’t elected, Gizzi is wrong. The small showing of “activists” proved most people saw the Venezuelans celebrating.

This is who Gizzi is:

Gizzi does have some good reviews and this one:

Evidently the other students loved the indoctrination, they didn’t mention it.

Classes don’t start again until January 12th. I bet Gizzi will have his political agenda ready.

If you don’t know what 50501 is:

They exist nationwide to protest Donald Trump. “Progressive”? What are they progressing to?

  1. The cognitive dissonance it takes to think you’re still part of the working class when you are clearly bourgeoisie is staggering. These people don’t even know their own ideology.

    1. JT – These people are strictly devoted to their ideology and they are being completely congruent with it. They worship the ideology of hatred. With that they can justify anything, even if it seems like cognitive dissonance, irrational violence or derangement to normal people.

  2. While I may not agree with our president on some things I am %100
behind him on the Venezuelan move.
We have heard our politicians spout war on drugs for years and finally we have a president that has enough balls to actually take a stand and make a war on drugs and follow through on it.
And for the ignorant protesters and they are ignorant America reported to be losing 100,000 lives a year to drugs and you people are upset because we finally have a president that says you send drugs to my country you are going to pay the price and he follows through with it! Finally!!’
