The Welcoming America Committee is being discontinued and absorbed by Human Resources. Failures to consistently have a quorum at meetings is blamed.

The Empire TIF Fund needs $500,000 to pay the developer of 210 apartment units on the site of the old Verizon building. On 4/30/2025 that TIF had $1.2 million: https://files.illinoiscomptroller.gov/LocGovTIF/FY2025/06402530/25TIF06402530Empire_StCorridor_1.pdf

The documentation doesn’t say where that money is or what the current TIF fund balance is. I don’t see where the TIF is required to pay the City back either.

The PSCRB will present their annual report. They heard 1 complaint in 2025. 4 meetings had to be cancelled for lack of a quorum.
