My 2 cents on AI – (for what it’s worth)
AI will generate more jobs than it takes.

China and America are in a life-or-death battle for AI dominance so I would be cautious about what I read in many articles on social media. (Although this article is trustworthy as it is an interview) China knows how to lead gullible Americans (progressives) around by the nose. They are filling media with stories about the ‘destructiveness’ of AI and data centers. Their intentions are clear.
Trump is fully on board with AI – therefore socialists (democrats) are fully against it no matter what the consequences are. If Trump said he was against AI they would be for it.
Later in the article – “Scaringe pushed back on the conventional framing of automation as a harbinger of human job losses.” He says education is the key to the future use of AI.
And on American education – heaven help us!
If America doesn’t win the AI battle, we will be working for China in the future.
Thanks for passing this along Diane. As the article points out, our world is rapidly changing and our education system and labor force must adapt quickly or be left behind.
As Fromhere points out, the alternative is working for and living under Chinese control.
It’s a good thing that most of us think RJ is a snake oil salesman who’s products will never be successful. We can’t believe or trust anything that he says.
Refering to Forbes as an accurate source. Now that’s rich. History shows that machines reduce human labor needs. Period.

Machines change human labor, they don’t reduce it. That’s the real history.
Meanwhile, Unit 5 wants to raise taxes to teach etiquette in school. Hmmm, isn’t that the parents’ job?
At this point, Unit 5 is basically trying to clean up the mess they made during the DEI era. Student behavior is out of control, and the state is watching them because their discipline record has been so bad. The state forced them to create a plan to reduce racial disparities in discipline — and instead of admitting their approach (DEI and SEL) hasn’t worked, they doubled down and said they’ll do even more of the same. The state’s fine with that because it keeps the blame off of them for pushing DEI and SEL in the first place.
But someone in Unit 5 must have realized that the old‑fashioned approaches to behavior actually work, because now they’re quietly drifting back toward teaching basic etiquette and expectations.
I can pull weeds all day or use a machine called a weed eater and have it done in a couple hours. I can walk cross country and take months, or drive a car and be there in several days. No reason to ban machines. Too many machines could be a problem.
@explain it – I have a machine in my shop. It’s a CNC Router (a wood router that is controlled by a computer) I make a design and basically push a button and it cuts out the parts out for me.
But while its cutting I can go back to the computer and design more parts. LIke you my machine does the hard work (cutting) and frees me up to do the fun creative work (design). This the same thing AI will do for us.
