Remember when grants were suspended in this year’s budget because the Board didn’t want to raise the levy?
Shifting funds has now given them money to give away. The problem is Township Law requires grants to benefit the residents of the Township. How will that be required of these organizations?

Representatives from the Community Health Care Clinic reported they serve more residents of Bloomington than Normal.
The Prairie Pride Coalition office is in downtown Bloomington.
The YWCA is in Bloomington.
The BN Community Last Trust owns one house in Bloomington.
Youth Build serves kids in both cities. So does the BN Achievement Foundation.
How is the Normal Township Board going to verify these grants ONLY benefit Normal Township residents? By ignoring the law?

WHAT!!! No grant money for the Consitution Trail or the Sprague Gas Station?? How can Normal Township neglect these important investments in our future quality of life after the underpass is finished?
