Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano has a campaign: “If you see something, say something”.

She is encouraging citizens to spy on other citizens, pretty much like Hitler did in Nazi Germany.

Obviously, she has it backward.

When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.  When the government fears the people, there is liberty.  Thomas Jefferson

Transparency and accountable government only happens when government is exposed by people with information.  If citizens have information, it is their responsibility to hold government accountable.
