I thought about writing on this topic, but posted it on Facebook instead. Sunday the Pantagraph had an Editorial: Newspapers are proud of what they do.
This was in the first paragraph:
We use different vehicles, but we’re all committed to the same thing: Sharing stories and information about the people and world around us, and making sure our government leaders are doing their jobs.
Not falling off my chair laughing was my greatest accomplishment of the day!
Another citizen felt the same way I did. He wrote the following Letter to the Editor:

While newspapers might be proud of what they do, a lot of what they do in my opinion has changed over time. Fair and unbiased reporting has gone by the wayside. Competent investigative reporting has essentially disappeared. Newspapers, led by the Associated Press, are now more political tools than anything else. To say that you make sure our government leaders are doing their job must be a joke.
I do not see any evidence that the local city and county governments here in the Bloomington / Normal area are being held accountable by our local newspaper. It seems to me that our newspaper is invested more in the existing city and county governments than in its citizen subscribers. Must be nice to have a captive audience and no competition. Except for the subscribers.

Comrade. The thought police have you under surveillance. Soylent Green is up and running. Fahrenheit 451 is global warming. And Lee Enterprises is rapidly disappearing. Perhaps fast enough.
There are six major companies that own 98% of the media. Biased? You bet.
The Pantagraph has a partnership arrangement with the Washington Post.
Main stream media are the marketing branches of the Democrat party. They don’t need reporters since they just do PR Releases for the Left , by the Left. Glad I cancelled that rag!

The ONLY reason I subscribe to the rag is that I want to look at obits every day(to make sure I’m not dead!LOL) Everything else in it is pretty much garbage in garbage out!
